The low-res preview images with filename text overlay are a big downgrade from fully embedded high-res images. Hopefully this is in the queue to get fixed.

This thread, for example: https://www.on3.com/boards/threads/andrew-simpson.7866304/
That’s not a forum issue, but more how the user uploads images. The forum likely has a max image size set so that people can’t break a thread by uploading an image that’s too large but what happened in this case is the user attached the picture instead of embedding it.

Below the box where you write your post is an attach files link which is what it appears the user did in this case. That’s why you get the file size and such.

What most people will want to do is to click the picture icon next to the smiley face and embed the image. I will embed an image of potatoes below this sentence and then also attach it so you can see the difference.

DannyArcher, thanks.

I'm on a MacBook, Chrome. I assume he meant click the three dots to get to the second list of actions starting with the smiley face. I tried clicking on the 4th icon there, "Media." But I was unable to go further because the banner hid the action box, see screenshot:

A workaround is to "Attach files" and click on the thumbnail, and an option appears to chose the "full image." But that's pretty clumsy.

Oh! I missed that. It's laid out differently on mine (not next to a smiley face) but I didn't recognize that for an image icon. Thanks!
That’s interesting. I essentially stopped trying to give advice because this forum displays so many different ways across different web browsers plus the app. I assumed the picture icon would be in the same spot though. Wild.
