That's the fishiest thing I think I've ever seen. You don't just suddenly give something like that up so fast for no reason.

He's broke. Probably headed to prison. Seems like he only got reappointed by one vote last time.

When's that trial start again? June?

He's 68. He's wearing a govt issued tracking device. He's getting the **** sued out of him left and right. And any minute one of the Taylor Bean or colonial mortgage chumps is going to flip his midget ***. I don't know. Maybe he's got enough on his plate without serving as Emperor Palpatine of the Boog Sith.

Lowder because of the bank failure and that he will also get caught up in the McGregor stuff. All of this will eventually cause Auburn, both athletically and academically, to be doomed. Do you hear, much less, believe this apocalyptic scenario?

but the rumors of AU's athletic and academic demise have almost disappeared. The fever pitch of these rumors simply could not be sustained and were naturally bound to die down. However, I think reality is setting in for those Bammers (and state fans) who were counting on some connection between the federal investigation of the gambling pay-for-play scheme and Auburn Football/Lowder/McGregor/Rayne, etc. It remains to be seen whether there is any connection, but the sense I get from reviewing the boards is that there is no connection.

I think Lowder goes down over the mortgage fraud, ala Bernie Ebbers. He damn well knew the books were being cooked.

McGregor goes down over the gambling probe.

We'll see if the white hats left at AU on the academic side take matters into their own hands and excise the cancers from their BOT. I think if they aggressively pursue that course, SACS will bend over backwards to assist. Nobody wins ... NOBODY ... if AU loses accreditation. None of us should want that to happen.

So this leaves AU athletics. That chapter is still being written. Seems to me that there is an awful lot of smoke there. I have less confidence that Cam will be forced to Reggie Bush. I have less confidence that AU will get USCw sanctions. But I have high confidence that AU is going to get that cheating *** waxed.

Rivarly: Lowder ripped off a ton of TARP funds while at Colonial and then put a Bama grad in control of his bank before retiring and saving his own arse. Bama grad gets pinched, Lowder skates, and then uses his personal financial losses at Colonial to "prove" his innocence.

Victoryland, McGregor, Tigers Unlimited, & Lowder are "all in." They'll all be discussed during the trial. The only question that remains is the extent to whic Lowder will be discussed and if it's enough to nail him, but it's no secret that the Fed wants him. Pure sepculation on my part, but I think the trial was delayed to try to get McGregor and potentially others to push the charges up the chain. There hasn't been any indication that Lowder could be in trouble, until now... the withdrawal of his name for the Auburn BoT could be pretty telling.

Lowder quits Colonial... Colonial gets nailed.
Lowder quits Auburn... ???

there is a ton of evidence to start a RICO case here, and I'd be really shocked if they're nt already pursuing it.

they were conducted in March and April of 2010, well after Cam Newton enrolled in Auburn.

This needs to go away. State wants it to go away.
