He missed the front end that would have brought us to 2 points. He missed 3 after 3 when we needed a score. He drove recklessly. Look he was a 26% 3 pt shooter last year. This isn’t an nba audition. We need to move the ball. We need to move off the ball. Kam Williams Aberdeen and chandler were hot. Why Lowe tried to take over well I don’t like it. I think he will be good. It’s not like he doesn’t have it like wheeler didn’t. He has to play within the team and under control. Some others sure you can point to but we had a chance and 1 guy basically robbed us of it.

He can't hit free throws, turns the ball over

Concerning the pg misses a front end of bonus to cut the lead to 2, then someone has to take the assignment of stopping brown. I mean we let him do whatever he wanted any time he wanted, didn’t see any dogs on D tonight.

This is what happens when you miss on your top targets. You eventually have to just take the best available regardless of if they all mess well or not.

Dent, Wilkerson and Wilson were massive misses. Swap those 3 for any 3 on the roster and we have an actual title contender. It’s only been 2 games but Wilkerson is averaging five 3pt makes per game on 50% shooting. SMH.

I agree he made some critical mistakes down the stretch, and his miss on the front end of the 1&1 REALLY hurt the momentum. However, no need to make false claims that he can’t shoot FTs…just hurts the credibility of the rest of your statement.

He’s a career 88% FT shooter, and I think he was 3/3 up to that point

Absolutely killed us down the stretch.
2-8 for the game shooting. Him and Oweh who had 5 tos played like guys trying too hard. Both were in the same boat with their decisions to leave the draft. You find chandler, or Williams (fantastic tonight) or Aberdeen when you need a bucket to get it to single digits. Pope needs to be clear about this. Lowe was a high volume player last year to average what he did. If he’s high volume on UK it’s gonna take from other studs we have.

Nothin’ for nothin’ but IIRC you bitched an moaned about Cal’s teams and he was getting ALL the top targets. Make up your mind.

He’s a great free throw shooter. No one else on the roster I would rather have on the line. Sadly just missed.

Lowe wasn’t perfect tonight for sure. Felt like there were a lot of 50/50 calls and no calls that he was on the short end of but that’ll happen on the road when the other team is playing with energy.

Definite shades of Ryan Harrow.
I didn't realize he was as small as he is until he got here.
Can't see him being a big time scorer or distributor at the highest level of D1.

Yeah. My only knock on pope as been his ability to close recruits. It remains my biggest concern. He never lands his top choices.

Dude had 4 assists in limited min in the first. Great passer. Exceptional FT shooter but no one has ever shot 100% from the FT line for their career. Definitely not ryan harrow but does need to settle down a bit and lay off the hero ball a little. Lowe was the whole team at pitt his old habits took over better early to get it settled. UL definitely wouldn't want a rematch. See them in the tourney hopefully.

So far his game reminds me of wheeler. That’s not good.

If you miss on your top targets, how are you still spending $22,000,000 ??

Are you blind or are you just dumb? UL most definitely will take a rematch, maybe Brown can go for 40.

LOL @ anything "great" about this role player trash roster.

He will be physically overmatched in just about every big time game this year.

That’s exactly right. He has to give up the ball and realize the guy he’s giving it to is as good or better than him. We do not want him to try to carry the team. Settle down. Move the stinking ball. We have other ball handlers and we have to move it around. A lot of 1 pass then brick or air ball tonight

Dog, where you getting your crack?
Tell me why I'm wrong. JQ could absolutely be as good as Mohammed. Sheppard, Turner, Edwards, and Mills is far-and-away greater than Lowe, Aberdeen, Johnson, Oweh, Chandler, and Noah?

If so, how? Sheppard didn't even last a full season in the NBA. Turner had an NBA life of three total games.

Is Padgett/Evans better than Mo D/Williams/Jelavic? Probably, but not by much.

Moreno could turn out to be as good as Magloire. It wasn't like Magloire was playing like an NBA first-rounder in 1998.

The biggest difference for me was and is the cohesion. That 1998 team had 7 rotation guys who had played in Final Fours, some of them multiple Final Fours. That's worth a +5 right off the bat.

Dog, comparing NBA careers to college tells me you've had too much of something tonight.

The 98 team played defense, played hard, and had studs. They were also well coached and had good fundamentals. And as you put it, far more cohesion. Likely much higher BB IQs, mental toughness and desire to be great vs desire to get NIL paychecks.

You're comparing apples and oranges.
