No surprise. He was never going to be healthy enough to contribute, and when he bricked the critical free throw against Louisville it was all I needed to see. He wasn't going to lead us where we needed to go. Healthy or not - he belongs back at a Pittsburgh type school.

No offense to the kid, but we really just don't have many Kentucky-caliber players here.

Why would he leave? He gets to basically be a loser at UK, playing for a loser head coach and AD, and still be a millionaire in the process.

He's got it made here.
If the NIL budget drops, how does Pope pay for these guys to come back?

Not unexpected at this point. He’s unlikely to get better without surgery after that many re-injuries, so nobody should be mad at him for taking care of himself, especially after he repeatedly tried to play through it before coming to this.

As for the team, I just hope we keep getting the version from Saturday night that performed admirably without him and not the one that struggled to initiate any offense at all from the early season.

He made over $2 million dollars off of Kentucky this year to play less than 10 games. He played a total of 167 minutes.

That means he made around $12,000 dollars per minute.

Was Pope and staff aware of his proneness to injuries before he was offered or were they caught off guard? Because Pope and crew shouldn’t have any injury excuses if they knew before offering.

Here we go......

He literally missed TWO games over the course of last season. That's it. This was soley due to his freak injury in the BW game.

Nobody shot Lowe from the grassy knoll in the shoulder last season and tried to cover it up.

I don't care if he's offended or not. He's paid handsomely and he should be able to take any critique since he's a pro now. The reality is that he did nothing here just like he did at Pittsburgh.

At the end of the day, Pope brought in a huge batch of overpaid, overhyped losers.
Dude got hurt. The eff you want him to do? Be clairvoyant? Come on. This is silly as hell.

The good news for Pope is that he has his built-in excuse that the season was a wash because of injuries. Just like Cal used the covid excuse for the 9 - 16 season. Those who buy into that will forget that we sucked even with Lowe available.

I would think less of Pope if he tried to use that as an excuse. Not with the amount of money and “talent” this team allegedly has.

Okay Pope, no more excuses give Jasper the keys already. For someone that's all about the numbers, I want to reiterate the numbers show Jasper has the most potential on offense.

I really like Lowe’s game and can’t wait to see him back out there. Meanwhile this team can continue to build on what they have instead of anticipating rotation changes every week. The whole season I think the players that have played the majority of games can’t get comfortable.

Unfortunately we have to explain to Lowe that we need to go get a 5-star level PG next year because we cant rely and hope on his shoulder to not be dodgy, even if the surgery is a complete success. And if he doesnt like that, then let him transfer.

We can not go into next season with Lowe as the day 1 starter at PG.. there needs to be another PG just as good as him, preferably better.

Hell, Lowe is liable to go to the portal anyways...

Why does everyone assume he'll return?

Almost every kid will go to the highest bidder going forward.

Excited but incredibly nervous to see what Jasper can do. I think he can really be the key to a turnaround. Will the additional minutes he gets now help convince him to stay next year? Building around Jasper, Malachi, and Kam wouldn't upset me too much.
