jq isnt even starting , how dumb
What difference does it make? Let him come off the bench and play 15-20 minutes. Starting v not starting in this game is irrelevant. I would let him play about 5 games before evaluating whether he deserves to start. He had an exciting first game. Let him play himself into the starting lineup. See who benefits most being on the floor with him. It may not be the starters. It will work out.

I mean this is going to be a constant with this kid. If your hurt then you’re hurt sit out until your shoulder gets better. Pope should add another PG and going forward we at least need 2 serviceable PG’s next recruiting cycle.

I was thinking along the same lines earlier .... and did a little reading. That's not really the case. The damage was already done at the initial dislocation and just rest on its own historically does not reduce the likelihood of reinjuring it. Really needs surgery for that. The tissues in the shoulder have already been torn out of place and simple rest won't put them back into place to make the shoulder more secure and stable.
Correct. Rest does no good. It’s just one less game he could hurt it again. Here’s the thing, he’s going to hurt it again, probably multiple times the rest of the season. The question is just whether or not he can return from it. Had a player at the HS level a number of years ago with the same injury. The second time it dislocated he was going up for a rebound and got a small bump from behind. Just came right out. He played in the same sling Lowe and Butler did rest of the year. It recurred four or five times. Just an unreal pain in the arse.

Shoulder needs 6 months, not 10 days. 10 days ain’t gonna make a damned bit of difference given what he’s dealing with.
I know that but still don't see using him in this game. I don't expect to have him all year and this is the last game we definitely can win without him.

That’s completely fair. I’m more in the camp of play, when he gets hurt again use that to see what the baseline is for managing pain to play again. It’s a viscous cycle of it coming out and managing the pain of once it’s back in how do you play.

I better see Aberdeen today to be a willing passer if he's going to play the 1. If he is not and dribbles too much, Pope better bench his azz fast. I don't care if it’s Bellermine. He needs to install discipline. He needs to start removing those bad

Way over reacting. Gracious. Denzel does well for not being a pg. learn the game more before throwing stuff like this out there.

I don’t see why this is hard to comprehend.

Can’t make this stuff up:

Half the board while we look atrocious without a healthy Lowe: “Injuries are just an excuse!!!!”

Same half of the board while we preserve the player to keep him healthy: “Lowe should play every game.”

🤷‍♂️

My theory is some of us are bipolar AF when it comes to UK, while others ain’t happy without something to complain about.

Hell, I’m probably bipolar myself so I’ll not judge. I’d hate to see the list of mental disorders if they put me under the scope lol

I just have zero confidence Lowe can make it through the season. We're pretty good with him and JQ. We're never going to be good enough if he's out.
I’m just sick of our best players always being out. It feels like every game under Pope has been hoping 2-3 guys are going to be ok to play a crucial game. Same this year. I hope this luck turns around soon because it happened Calipari’s last few seasons as well.

I want to believe JJ is the guy here and Aberdeen can be the secondary pg on the floor at the same time. But when he drives I feel like he doesn't have the handles or vision.
JQ goes everywhere with a ball in his hands, I say pope invokes the same with Denzel and JJ.
Think this was on the movie the program, learn to love it.
JJ can make plays. When he decides to pass he makes plays.

With our luck I would rather have more PG’s that we try to make into SG, rather than keep trying to force guys into PG who aren’t one.

It was a good opportunity for JJ to get time at pg. 7 assists. Thought he showed well with extended time. Learning behind Lowe. Lowe gets some additional time. 11 days. I’m sure he’s getting work in practice but we didn’t absolutely need him today.

I think Lowe sitting out yesterday was more about trying to finally figure out who is going to be the backup PG. I only was able to listen to the first half but it seemed like Pope was having a PG try out. Hope he's got it now.

These last two seasons of trying to make a shooting guard into a PG reminds me of one Tony Delk and Pitino....but not because of injuries.
