Which is why I'd stay away from the UM-UF game. Snead's a dangerous enough QB that that game could easily be closer than 23 points. But I think I'd have to put some cash down on LSU at -24.
Anyone remember Florida -27 in 2004? MSU was horrible and hadn't covered a game in who knows how long. Betting on Florida was an easy win; MSU was going to lose by 50 points. It would be over at halftime!
The rest as they say....is history.
With that being said, I think -24 on the road at Baton Rouge is about as close to a sure bet as you can ever get.
I think both UM and MSU would be good bets this week. LSU and UF are both coming off big game wins. Both of them watched us both suck this past weekend, so they aren't expecting much. There is a good chance that neither of us gets the best shot that LSU and UF have to offer. I especially like us to cover because it's an 1130 game. The 1130 start time means the crowd will be even less into it and the players will be more likely to be sleep walking as well.
I could be way off on that, but I wouldn't be shocked for either of us to cover. Neither team is as bad as it looked last week, and neither LSU nor Florida are quite as good as the betters think they are.
when looking at lopsided lines on your team. Weren't you guys -4 on the turnover margin Saturday. We had a freakin' 100+ yard opening drive that manage to only get a field goal ( 3 big penalties ), and ZERO offensive TDs. We were also -4 on the turnover margin. Both opponents are coming off big (emotional) road SEC victories. If State or Ole Miss doesn't turn the ball over, both should beat the spread this week - IMHO.
you will ever make in your lifetime, just like it has been every year along with the Arkansas game. Lay the points...it won't be close, and the line will only grow bigger the longer you wait.
LSU 48 MSU 3
Edited to add: If the UF-UM line grows just a bit more, I will take the Rebs.....UF will be off a little after the Tenn game last week.
I have researched this game in the past. I pretty sure. LSU has covered every game they have been a favorite vs State going back to the early 90s. Only once have we been a favorite in that time and that was 99. We did not cover.

Case in point: 2006 @ LSU, LSU is favored by 32.
Late in the game, the Tigers score a TD to take a 48-17 lead...and the holder fumbles the XP snap and LSU doesn't cover.
Also, if you bet $1000 against the team you're a "fan" of, you're a jackass. Losing the money is called karma.
