I do think the current environment makes firing coaches more appealing if it isn’t a good fit and it is doable financially. LSU and Missouri coaches brought in their players they trusted with them while keeping or adding key players.

Payne will be here in Year 2 unless he bails. Year 2 there are no excuses i.e. talent, NCAA, 1st year coach, culture. He and his staff are in the business of acquiring talent. No organization survives without talent. They were billed as talent evaluators and developers. They have to build their roster to compete for titles. Year 2 they have to show that ability. If a staff that was billed as a talent acquirer and developer doesn’t do either then move on. By next summer we will have that answer.
