LB Tahj Jones has been ruled academically ineligible. Also academically ineligble are offensive lineman Evan Washington, tight end Tyler Edwards, and linebacker D.J. Welter. Lastly, DE Jordan Allen is out with a torn ACL.

Between the news of this and our story the comments section on ESPN is blowing up with butt hurt PAC-12 and Big10/12 fans. One even said the reason that their teams can't beat the SEC in big games is because they are played in warm weather locations. That's right...the SEC owes it domination all to the weather. Who knew?

I am 100% in agreement that warm weather schools have an advantage in football and baseball over cold weather schools and that statement is backed up by the perceived superiority of warm weather schools over cold weather schools in terms of championships and quality of teams.

BS! Let's be honest here...................................

The South where there is warmer weather is better at sports not because of weather but because we have a higher percentage of Blacks. Mississippi is what 38%. It doesn't get any more simple then that. Remember it's not racist if it is true. Plus we have a lot of country guys who do not grow up playing basektball at the city park. Our best Atheletes play football. Football is the real life style Bo always talks about but bo really doesn't know. That is one of the reasons northern schools do so much better in Basketball. They do play Basketball year round where our guys are either playing Baseball or Football. Some even play Soccer and many of those guys end up being very good football players. Just my opinion.

I think the Southern schools have an advantage in baseball in the preseason because it's even cold down here. But football is mostly practiced in the Spring and late summer, where it is warm every where, so it's a much weaker argument in football.

I get what you're saying, but I think we'd all agree that football teams practice in January and February at most schools around the country. Even if it's just WR running routes for the QB to throw too, they still do something. You can't run those routes outdoors in January and February cause there's usually snow in the ground in most of those place. There are plenty of schools who get snow in March and early April up north as well.

While the argument for football is definitely weaker than baseball, it's still a pretty decent argument.

I think there's also something to be said for training in the extreme heat in the South. I think that has as much to do with it as the winters allowing outdoor practice down South.

Then California schools should dominate b/c of their superior climate...

Some of the best baseball in the country is played all within about 300 miles of Los Angeles. USC, UCLA, Pepperdine, Cal-State Fullerton, San Diego State, and the list goes on and on....

And hasn't USCw pretty much dominated the Pac-12 in football for the past 10 years sans coaching turmoil/sanctions?

I actually think you bringing up California helps my argument.

And I never would have guessed that. But ... it's just percentages. A lot of those places are predominantly German apparently, but not many people live there to begin with.

Note the predominance of Blacks is in the Deep South, and the larger cities in other areas (even in north Alabama). However, having Madison County, Alabama (Huntsville) is not right ... the percentage of Blacks here is not larger than Whites, for sure. I think the Black percentage here is about 25%, countywide. Most outlying areas are <5%.

And it looks like most of the mid and upper South are "Americans". I thought all of us were Americans, whether Black, White, or whatever ....

We're not better at sports. We're better at football, and that's got jack **** to do with having black athletes. It has everything to do with how important it is to people in the South. You're point about what sports people predominantly play is correct. The crap about being better because we have black guys is ridiculous.

They've had one school with competence in running a football program during most of that time as well. Coaching is a big part of that equation. Look at what the Michigan man did at San Diego State. Look at what Harbaugh did at Stanford. Look at what Pat Hill did at Fresno State.

With all that being said weather isn't the only factor into what determines whether a team is good not... I think you're making the assumption that I'm saying weather is the only thing that matters. That's not the case. Weather can be a benefit if you have warmer climates... but it isn't a requirement.

This has got to go down as one of the dumbest things ever typed. Aren't you Mormon? Why should I expect anything different from someone whose religion just started letting black people join in the 70's?

What the 17 is "American"?

I thought it was talking about native Americans, but apparently they take care of them by calling them "American Indians".

You're right. They could. They just couldn't have a leadership position. Let's talk some more about your religion. Tell me again why Jesus hates caffeine? And why do I have to wear special underwear??
