Did anyone hear that Ali Gaye was not gonna play Saturday ? I am pretty sure I heard one of the guests on T&L say that. That would be a help. Im pretty concerned about that pass rush.

I think Ali Gaye was expected to be back this weekend, but they lost another starting DE for the season recently (Andre Anthony). LSU’s pass rush is definitely the strongest part of their defense. They play almost exclusively out of a four man front, which we haven’t seen much since Leach has been here.

On the flip side, LSU is last in the SEC in opponent passer rating and opponent yards per pass attempt, and they haven’t exactly played any prolific passing offenses. It can’t help them that Stingley is probably out too. So if we can protect and get the ball out on time, there should be some opportunities.

Protection is my main concern. The guy they are moving from the middle is at least just as good. Not sure about his replacement at tackle but they lead the league in sacks. If we block these guys I think we will win. If not we lose. I know Deculus is spose to be back at tackle so that is a big plus for them but I'm not scared of that offense. That D line may eat our O lines lunch tho

Ain’t no maybe about it. I expect more holding penalties than we’ve seen this far due to the amount of *** whipping our OL wil be given. Gonna be a long day for all involved.

I've said it all week and I'll say it again, this has a chance to be a disgusting game for both sides. Maybe not 3-2 levels of bad but not a whole lot better. Of course I say that and watch it be a 45-42 shootout that is super entertaining. But I think both defenses have favorable matchups in this game.

Granted, it has not played good competition, but our OL seems to have been fine since the the 4th quarter of the La Tech game. I expect us to look like last year tomorrow, with our OL routinely getting beat, but they have been good against non-SEC competition so far.

I've been a State fan long enough to know that things like this rarely matter and will likely have zero bearing on our game.

Lot of truth in that statement. Even in the passes to the RB. A quick strike to them on the run might gain more than waiting to the last minute. Quicker decision making will come with experience I guess

Yeah a lot of blame getting put on the OL for pass protection, when they’ve actually protected the QB okay to this point. Especially the last two games and considering how much we throw it. Rogers has to get through his reads quicker and be more decisive. Hopefully that comes with more experience. We will see.

My biggest issues with the OL to this point are pre-snap penalties and not run blocking well enough. If we were a threat to run the ball effectively just 20-25 times per game and take more shots down the field, our offense would be way better. It’s frustrating because we had success running the last three games of 2020, and there are opportunities to push the ball downfield.

I think there's some truth to this but it's still likely that LSU out-talents us at most positions on the field.

I think Arnett has given us reason to be confident that we will limit what they do offensively. I just have no confidence in our offense right now.

I don’t have faith in our offense either, but I think we can win a low scoring rock right. The 45-42 score I threw out there was mentioned tongue in cheek. I totally think this ends up being 17-14, 13-10, something in range. Both defenses are good and both offenses are bad. I think 21 points may win this game in either direction.

How many times did I show up to an LSU game in the 90s ready for a State team to blow them off the field, only to be downright embarrassed by them, most of the time they had a losing record. They were 2-9 and waxed our 1992 team. 4-7 vs. our 1994 team. And who can forget the damned *** beating in 1998 against the team who won the West. Damn near beat us in 1999 and I still haven't figured out how we lost to Saban's first team in 2000, up 2 TDs in the 4th quarter.

I will never, EVER, predict us to beat LSU the rest of my life due to this, no matter how irrational it may sound.

I know none of us are happy with the offense and some just hate Leach and his system, but in my opinion this offense lives and dies by the QB. If you look at Leach teams in the past its up and down, but the one constant is every 10 or 11 win team has had a special QB running it. Not sure if Will is ever gonna be that guy or if we have to wait for Sawyer but until we get an experienced better than average QB taking control its gonna look putrid at times. And it looks putrid about half the game this year. Pretty decent at times but not often enough. Just often enough to tease us

Stingley is banged up and will be limited. Hopefully, Emery will be ruled out. I expect Leach to use the crossing patterns to exploit the lsu defense. If our online can perform well, we should win. 34-31.
