When Auburn started the All Auburn, All Orange campaign several years back, they just encouraged people to wear orange. As it caught on, the SGA started printing the shirt and the local bookstores sell them to anyone who wants one. Now, they have a vote to see which design people want to see. The proceeds from the shirt go toward scholarships and community service.

Did love it when the Cajuns came to town. When I was in his class his quote was something to the effect of. "They'll be here on Thursday, drinking, fighting,taking their shirts off, and that's just the women." I can't believe he's gone.
But back to the maroon/white out. We've tried these before and they don't work. Too many old farts and frat douches who refuse to cooperate.

What would be funny is if we wear our gold jerseys though like DiNardo did when Florida demanded to wear white at home to prevent the Tigers from wearing the traditional white. The next year Spurrier said that UF will wear blue b/c those gold jerseys looked hideous on national TV.
I have been to 2 different Penn State White Out games, and am going to the Iowa game this year which is another white out. There is NOTHING like it. This year the white out game was against Illinois and everyone participated. It is pretty intimidating when the opposing team looks up and sees 110,000 fans all wearing the same color. When everyone wheres white it just gets the team and the crowd both pumped up.
I wish MSU could pull it off like my nittany lions but Penn State does the best white out in the country, hands down.

I beg to difffer. Most fraternity guys are the ones you see dressed appropriately. Wearing a white or maroon polo or something of the sort...it's a fact. Who else is gonna pay $65 for an Under Armour polo with the M-State emblem? Also, non-fraternities dress correctly too if they are the type that care about sports.Malfunction Junction1 said:

I think Byrne or someone within the AD should get with the Greeks to try encourage the all-Maroon and All-White. And as far as the geezers, the AD should send letters and e-mails to remind people well in advance. I'm sure the Ninja has thought of this.
Maybe I'm being overly optomistic here, but I think that people will participate. Instead of a week and a post on Genespage to remind people, we actually have it on the calender months ahead.
Another thing that could be done is give out maroon t-shirts at the gate with Spread The Fun on them and white t-shirts for the white out game. That seemed to work well when we did the Maroon is all that matters t-shirts.

actually, one thing the SA is doing is starting the tradition of having a True Maroon theme for each season, and a shirt to go along with it.
