their frontline is pretty strong. Watched a little of their game last night. Only thing I can see - they have no one to match up with Hood.

I think LSU will be one of those teams that will be tough in their gym but I don't see much beyond that. Ralston Turner played out of his skull with a game high 22 pts. Seems like they were talking about how he was like 4 of 22 coming into the Marquette game. He was 6 of 10 last nightand hit about 3-4 three's. I sawsome of the 3's he hit in transition....his feet weren't set and he came down in a different place. Who knows, maybe this was the game that got him out of the funk. Hope he doesn't do that crap against us.

So Coach34 was right again? According to many on the board trying to score cool points, Trent Johnson is a terrible coach and only had a winning season because of the talent John Brady left him. He had the double whammy of coming from a mid major via a west coast PAC 10 school and was in over his head in the mighty SEC.

I do not think I would be ready to jump on the Trent Johnsonbandwagon after one upset win at home. You do realize hehas gone acombined 22-41(5-27 SEC) the lasttwo seasons right? Also, they have lost to Coastal Carolina, Northwestern and South Alabamaalready this year. While I do not think he isa terrible coach (although his LSU record would say otherwise),it is hard to ignore that his onlygoodseason at LSUwas the year that he inherited John Brady's players.

we were lucky to win by a point against them last year at the Hump and lost in BR. I know we are much improved from last year's team but they look improved as well.

I thought it was the other way around. We won in BR and Lost at the hump. The year before was another thriller in BR w/ the last second 3 by phil turner.

that we actually won the one point game on the road and then they beat us handily at the Hump.

Johnson had to weather his 2 year rebuilding plan. They are much improved this season and getting better. They play damn good D, but still struggle to score at times. Very similar to Bama- their 2 games with Bama should be just brutal to watch

they are obviously growing and getting better as a team- winning 5 or 6 in a row. Should LSU lose to CC and South Bama? No. But when you have been rebuilding- that **** happens...Johnson gets no more passes and has to start winning some games- but you cant really question his coaching if you have watched them play- but can question his recruiting all day long.

Yes. Yes I can. He deserves credit for beating MarquetteAND he deserves blame for losing to South Alabama. Just like any coach should including Stansbury.

Trent Johnson haswon more than 20 games only 3 times in his 12 years as a head coach. He has shown that he can get a team to a Sweet 16 but he has also shown that he can go 5-27 in the SEC over the last two years. He can coach very well at times buthe has shown zero consistency throughout his career.

He reminds me a little of Bob Boyd. "Great" coach from out West, but his teams were just painful to watch, he couldn't recruit, and he rarely won. Obviously, he's not that bad, but Hanmu is right. Only 3 20-win seasons in 12 years and only 3 wins in the NCAA tournament is all the proof you need to know he's not a great coach.

I agree that it would appearLSU isimproving and for all I know they may end up having a pretty good season. All I am trying to point out is that he is going to have to doa lotmore than get one home upsetto prove himself after going 22-41(5-27 SEC, yes 5 total wins) over a two stretch.

You can call it coaching/recruiting/rebuilding, it doesn't really matter, to put up that kind of record intwo down SEC (especially SEC West) years is beyond terrible. Honestly, he wasn't even that impressive (record wise) at Stanford besides his last year. He took afairly strongStanfordprogram (had won like 27-30 games the year before he took over) back to medocrity for the next three or so years.Really theonlything in his coaching careerthat gives me any confidence that he could potentially turn it around is the fact thathe has been to two Sweet 16s (although they should have went further his final year at Stanford). If recruiting really is his only problem then maybe he should try to catch on with an NBA team.</p>
