LSU running backs and OL seem to be ok, but would it be safe to assume we should have the "scheme" advantage against them when JJ goes back to pass? Jefferson just doesn't seem like a smart QB at all when it comes to reading SEC Pass Defenses.

I see Diaz coming up with some crazy stuff this week in hopes of keeping JJ off balance but maybe this is just wishful thinking since we do need to tackle a little better in the first half. In my opinion, It seems Diaz will have an even greater advantage after he makes his half time adjustments too.

On the flip side, John Chavis is now the DC at LSU so I guess the same could be said of their D against our Offense with Ralph/Russell.

Captain Obvious statement: The key will be IF we can run the football with Ballard/Perkins and (yes, I hate to see Elliot's scared *** try to run too) even with "Rockin The Deuce."

Don't know. Our DL is suddenly nowhere near as good as advertised. They're a far cry from the 1998-like dominance that had been talked about.

When the second string came in. We don't even have a full first string that is as good at those D-lines.

They had my *** fooled. I do think Auburn being held scoreless had a lot to do with us having so many DL playing but the difference between now and 98 is now we have a bunch of pretty good DL, in 98 we had a several badass DL and several more pretty good ones. We're missing the badasses.

Haven't we known were were short one DE? I understand thinking we were great at one DE and solid on the interior, but who was supposed to be the second DE?

The thing with comparing the 98 d-line to now is the style of play is drastically different. Something tells me the 98 d line would have been a little shell shocked to see a Malzahn run offense.
