I knew this would happen. Hopefully he will make an educated decision and look at how a quarterback with his skill set will develop at both of the schools.

I knew this was going to happen though. I believe this is one of our most underated recruits!

So they have a Steven Rivers committment, are the front runners to land Mettenberger and now they offer Dak?? How many qb's is Crowton planning on starting?

will now be a 4 star recruit on Scout...or does he have to get an Ole Miss offer to get a bump like that?

At LSU he is a backup plan in a poor QB situation. In Starkville, he is the first choice of a coach who can make Relf look good. Easy choice in my opinion.

Also, even LSU fans seem to think that Dak is not interested. He's stated that he's a better fit at State

Look at his past QB's that he's put in the NFL...Alex Smith, Tebow, Josh Harris, Chris Leak, Omar Jacobs.....he scouts talented QBs and develops them into great players.<div>
</div><div>And I'm hearing Stephen Rivers isn't going to be half the QB his brother is...</div>

I understand. It just never ceases to amaze me that some kids would rather sit on pine in an "elite" program than make a name for themselves at a "second tier" school.

Everything I've read about Rivers is that he's better at this age than his brother was... bigger, stronger, faster.. all the way around. But that is just what I've read... I haven't seen the guy in person. He looks like he could use a burger or two and a little time in the gym, but I'd love to see him in Maroon and White.

they will be the one on the bench. They are told by the recruiting coach that they are being brought there to lead the program. And these kids are used to being the top player on their team and in their community since they were young. So it doesnt matter most of the time- they want to play in front of 90K and be on CBS every other week and think that it will automatically happen if they just show up.

All I have heard is that he is a sharp kid...hopefully he makes the right decision and sticks with us

Early in the summer Dak was a guy who apparently had such a poor showing at our first camp that he was worried he wouldn't ever get an offer. (Of course Rivers saying no and a better showing at the Big Dawg Camp took care of that.) Now, he's got one from LSU.

I'm in the same boat, I haven't seen the kid play. I've just been passed along information from people who have seen him play. Obviously if he has any of the genes his brother has, and I'm sure a tip or two from Phillip won't hurt his game, he's going to be a decent QB. But come to think of it, even if he was half the QB of his brother, he'd still be pretty damn good.<div>

Yeah, so we assume he is a goofy, functionally retarded, half as talented as his stud NFL QB big bro, that speaks like he has a mouthful of marbles QB... an Eli if you will... he'd still be the best QB we've had in what?? ever?
