Did anyone else take snaps at LT other than Steen and McVay? I don't know what the answer is going forward, but sooner or later, Taylor is gonna start taking some blindside hits. I'm not sure if Dent or Miles got in the game at all, but could they be more serviceable moving over to the left side?

One adjustment we could make is chip With the TE or Fluff… we just dont have quick feet at LT…. Steen is more of a G/RT, McVay needs to get his hands inside more.

Line is going to cost us this year, on both sides. Outer line on offense and inner line on defense. We are going to have to be prepared to drop the cash next year to fix this if we want Taylor to stick around.

Good Lord. Taylor aint going nowhere. Miles had way too many penalties trying not to get beat. He has to improve. Will he ? None of us know. Do we have an in-house replacement ? Probly not. I doubt he will face a better d line tho. Maybe Texas ?? Hopefully he can be coached up. By now he probly is what he is tho. Only time will tell but how many sacks did they get ???

Seems we usually had the TE on the right side of the line and Fluff chipping to help the LT. Problem was after Fluff chipped and ran his route, the LT still couldn't handle it. K1 did a good job getting rid of the ball and I suspect any other QB from the last few years would have had lots of trouble.

The penalties were an issue Saturday, but Dylan Stewart was as good a DE as we'll see all year, and they managed to hold him to 1 tackle even in his limited snap count

I think he can clean it up a little. Some of those penalties weren't that bad. The refs were on point Saturday.

As long as we finish the year with some positivity and have some mojo for next year, I agree. But if we fumble around and he gets beat up, that would be a scenario where he might look elsewhere.....

We were at a clear disadvantage when maybe the best edge rusher in college football was pinning his ears back and completely fresh because of limited snaps. That’s not a revelation and we survived it without KT ever getting blasted.

i may be wrong, but that felt like a really good D line in general we were facing.

The thing that stood out to me again was just how aware of what’s happening around him KT is. It looks innate. He helps his lineman out constantly by being aware of what’s happening and either avoiding it or working into a spot where they can get back in a blocking position.

McVay and Steen both were over matched by an elite pass rusher. The rest of the OL is playing better than expected to me. The team still put up 41 points but one fears what might happen. Blindside hits ain't no joke

Lebby can give help to the LT with a double team, RB or TE. The rest of the OL seems to be playing well enough to give KT a place to go as the left side breaks down but it sure does leave an uneasy feeling.

Next up: State gets a home game vs Missouri. I know nothing about that team other than Austin Simmons is playing well.

I will enjoy the South Carolina win and hope for a Missouri win. I will study Missouri a bit to see what they got.

Agreed that is likely the 2 best DL we will face. They are comparable to Texas and OM - I think a bit better. They are not as good as Bama, but Bama has been hard to figure this year.

This. Having a qb that can evade and feel pocket helps a ton. Our last few qbs couldn't do that. Also if we do well this year, we can convince some better linemen to come to help

I just don’t think Lebby wants to give up his advantage of having 4 receivers on routes every single play. He has mostly lined up West split out right or tight right but rarely used him to block on pass plays. When 18 was in the game he slotted left and went in motion to the right nearly every time.

He might add West to the left side tight and let him bump the edge and break out into a middle route if he sees the same issues this week. I suspect Steen gets the start over miles because he seems to have a wider stance and can maybe stay in front without holding.

At least twice every series, Ragins or Johnson streak down the left side and Magee streaks down the right side while Evans crosses and West goes down the seam and sits? That is why Lebby wants 4 receivers out every time. The Defense cannot double the outside guys.

Our WR depth & quality causes real problems for a defense. I get that LT is a liability. But if we don’t get Kamario killed, it’s gonna be real hard to defend our passing game. Especially when you have to respect the running game with Bothwell.

If you had 5 holding calls & your qb got sacked 3 times despite being very mobile you didn’t perform well in pass protection. And think the DE only got single digit snaps.

FYI - he’s not going to make any changes to offense or protections. He’s not going to shhhitcan the offense because the LT sux. You can’t change the entire playbook after game 3 - that’s not how it works. We’re stuck with it

Owens isn’t starting at Mizz. Work continues to be graded as the worst RT in all of P4…

While our LTs didn't have a great performance, considering who they were trying to block and how much we run deep pass patterns, they did a decent job, not good, but decent. As the year goes on I expect them to get better and they won't face anyone else better.
