Can't believe he is such a bad hitter but it must speak to his defensive abilities to hang around the bigs for a few years.

He had a knuckle working when pitching the other day...wasn't too bad.

He hit a respectable .248 a year ago.

That’s better than I thought to be honest...the .146 and the .135 bracketing the .248 is what I thought was more the norm. Hit his best with the most PAs he had, so maybe he will pull the avg up this year. Does not swing like the power hitter he seemed to be in college.

They don't need a first baseman or a DH in Houston. They need to trade Reed, but not sure how much value they'd get for him.
It's a shame with AJ...he's only 25 and hopefully his career is not over, but you are right he needs a trade desperately and soon. He has no future in the Astro's organization. He has done really well in the AAA league, but not when he's been called up.
Last year he had 30+ hrs/100+ rbis. He is struggling mightly so far this season. Sure wish him the best because he was great here and seemed liked a can't miss future MLB star . Do you know how long he's locked in contractually with Houston and when would he become a free agent?
