Clearly, this team is more talented than its record in its last eight games, which, after a loss to those other Bulldogs in the first round of the SEC tournament Thursday, is now 2-6. That stretch has included two losses to Georgia, one to LSU and one to Auburn, with understandable losses to Kentucky and Alabama. Something's obviously dysfunctional here. But what about the actual resume? It doesn't look much better. The RPI is prohibitively high, the SOS figure doesn't do much, and a 200ish nonconference schedule looks bad, especially considering MSU's best wins are at Vanderbilt and vs. West Virginia and Alabama. For much of the bubble season, throughout this collapse, the Bulldogs looked like they could hold on if only because of those wins. But taken together with the rest of this profile -- and with no chances to get a win now, obviously -- the Watch isn't so sure this team should make the tournament after all. </p>
and are more deserving of a bid regardless. If Stokes had been there the entire season, they would already be in the NCAA tourney. The committee will look at that. If it comes down to us or UT, we are toast. I don't really see how the committee makes a case for us at all. We played our best ball at the beginning of the season. Our last 10 games are 4-6, 6 of our last 8 and lost to the lower part of the SEC. What is the positive for them to put us in the dance? We played UK tough? Whoop whoop
We all thought we should be in after reaching finals ... and especially over that Florida team after we beat them head-to-head in the SEC tournament. But the selection committee didn't seem to put as much weight in the SEC tournament. I would say maybe we could be on the other side of that issue this year, but then again we're not Florida.
What has this team done that deserves to be in? OM and UT are both better teams than us right now. We don't deserve to be in ****. This team has turned pathetic and it's time to look towards next year with a new coach and a new attitude. I don't think I've ever been this sick with a msu program in all my life.
