I agree that the LWW O-line is good, maybe one of the best in the state and Montalvo is a load.
They punish everyone they play.
In the prior post of who you need to watch on the LWN offense, Jamir Hunt, another running back wasn't mentioned. LWN has three fairly skilled running backs and rotates them throughout the game.
Branch is the number one and just a solid all around back. He has good speed, will run through the middle, his biggest strength is his open field elusiveness. He is very difficult to bring down, sometimes even hit, once he is loose past the line of scrimmage. Peters is probably close to as fast as Branch, while not a particularly big back, I would describe his style as running angry. He is more the type who seems to look for someone to hit coming through the line as much as he looks to avoid contact. Jamir Hunt is the third man in this group. While Hunt probably doesn't look for contact as much as the other two backs, he is the fastest of the three. Generally big trouble for the defense if you can get him through the line or around the corner.
LWN will line up with one two or all three of these guys in the backfield at the same time which does pose some problems for the defense with who to key on.
While utilizing the three backs has no doubt cut down on Branch's carries and numbers this year, along with him playing quarterback some of the time and sitting out a couple of games with a sore ankle, it may help with him being fresher going into the playoffs.
I believe that if needed, you can still give Branch the ball 25 times and watch him go for 200 yards, but, I think the team prefers a balance of Branch with 80-100 yards, Peters about the same and Hunt with 50 or so. With the spreading out the carries, you, in theory, have healthier, fresher backs going into the playoffs, we shall see.
