Opinions on how this one will go? Does Branch return for LWN? Would be interested to hear from those in the know about this matchup.

West may win by 30 points. Maybe 35.

Yes branch is back.

Brokop and Witt on the line will dominate while montalvo runs for 150 plus. North's offense is too one dimensional. It's either branch, Peters, or slager. Don't bother keying on anyone else.

Czart wins coach of the year but Ernst sends the Fill the Hill crowd home sad for one week.

Lwn ends up winning state.

So, are you saying Lwn's one dimensional offense is good enough to win state. But not good enough to beat lwc?

Outsider perspective... having played both of them... North is the better team, and should win.

Talked with LB Dave Lux last night and he and the rest of the team will be ready. He said that Czart has been more fired up than usual this week and he really wants this one. He also said they're not even looking at the playoffs and only focusing on this game

Jaylin Branch tweaked his ankle against Thornton and was held out last week cause let's call it what it is, North did not need him against Central. Lux told me he should be 100% and good to go for tonight.

Good. Because they will need him tonight

I agree that the LWW O-line is good, maybe one of the best in the state and Montalvo is a load.
They punish everyone they play.
In the prior post of who you need to watch on the LWN offense, Jamir Hunt, another running back wasn't mentioned. LWN has three fairly skilled running backs and rotates them throughout the game.
Branch is the number one and just a solid all around back. He has good speed, will run through the middle, his biggest strength is his open field elusiveness. He is very difficult to bring down, sometimes even hit, once he is loose past the line of scrimmage. Peters is probably close to as fast as Branch, while not a particularly big back, I would describe his style as running angry. He is more the type who seems to look for someone to hit coming through the line as much as he looks to avoid contact. Jamir Hunt is the third man in this group. While Hunt probably doesn't look for contact as much as the other two backs, he is the fastest of the three. Generally big trouble for the defense if you can get him through the line or around the corner.
LWN will line up with one two or all three of these guys in the backfield at the same time which does pose some problems for the defense with who to key on.
While utilizing the three backs has no doubt cut down on Branch's carries and numbers this year, along with him playing quarterback some of the time and sitting out a couple of games with a sore ankle, it may help with him being fresher going into the playoffs.
I believe that if needed, you can still give Branch the ball 25 times and watch him go for 200 yards, but, I think the team prefers a balance of Branch with 80-100 yards, Peters about the same and Hunt with 50 or so. With the spreading out the carries, you, in theory, have healthier, fresher backs going into the playoffs, we shall see.

I was pleasantly surprised by Hunt last week. If he finds a crease then he can be home. Not a bad group of running backs. I think in this game though Jake Arthur is going to have to make a big time throw. The good thing for him is that he has one of the most underrated WRs in the state in Drew Slager. Seriously why isn't that guy getting more love on the recruiting end? He's been catching everything thrown his way. This North offense has got some firepower for sure
