Good opportunity this week to see a great game Thursday evening between Appomattox & Heritage @ 7PM City Stadium. These 2 teams should compete for the Top 2 spots in their respective districts. (Appomattox should fight it out with Dan River for the Dogwood & Heritage should fight it out with Amherst and Brookville for the Seminole)

I'm hoping to make the trip to Lynchburg Thursday to check this one out (although I'd really like to check out Graham/Richlands, but the trip is a little too long for me on a Thursday). I recall Appo having a large following at their games I attended late in the year; does Heritage bring a big crowd as well?

Unfortunately, Heritage doesn't usually have a big crowd.

I was about to ask why this game is being played on Thursday, but I see that Glass is hosting GW at City stadium on Friday. I think that has the potential to be an interesting match-up, also. We'll see if Glass is substantially improved, or if the 2-0 start is due to the level of competition faced by the Hilltoppers thus far.

But yes, Appo and Heritage should be a good one. Doubt if I'll make it, though.

i will definitely be there Thursday. anyone want to meet up. let me know. Appo will bring a bug crowd to Friday HOME games. we dont travel as well though and the game being on Thursday might be a factor. Appo is not use to that. Its gonna surprise me if we show big on Thursday.

Glass' game is their level of competition, you will see that on Friday. They have a good QB. Heritage should beat Appomattox

No Heritage does not. Appomattox will have as many if not more

Im hearing that there isnt even a locker room for Appomattox to go in? Is this true? What are we playing lil league?

I dont know if it is going to be on radio. This area is not as good about radio broadcasting like SWVA. I applaud yall about that!

according to news & advance, game on 3 different stations. I do believe there's a locker room. but then again with Hillcats playing at home, the Hillcats locker room may doubled as a football locker room. I don't like logistics of city stadium for football.

I'm curious, what do you know about Harrisonburg and Halifax? I'm just asking because you said that Glass' wins were due to their level of competition.

There will not be a locker room for either team as the Hillcats are still in season. Their locker rooms double as football locker rooms. This problem will be solved in the next year or so as they are remodeling City Stadium to solve this problem.

I saw the Harrisonburg/Glass and Harrisonburg/Handley games. Harrisonburg is massive in the trenches and at linebacker, but not strong defensively. After early miscues, Glass was able to move the ball well.

Halifax was 5-6 last year and Glass' only win was against Halifax. Just basing it off of what a coach who went to the game told me from his observation. This Friday will be a true test to what they have.
