Ma 2. Tarboro 1

JK 2. Craddock 0

fact based not exaggerated

But with that said Bears still win a crappy conference, barely , get beat up in the 3rd round. Get really beat up next week, again. That North Surry offense has gotta change . I imagine it will when 4 gets back. He will run it 60 times a night till the coaches get him hurt again. Very unfortunate to say the least . Last post on this thread . Slick Rich over and OUT
He got hurt on D as he was clipped.

Jk had talent -> agreed , arguably should have won 2 more. But Kelly had that same talent year after year . Had some down years but for the most part had the talent to win several more. Same with Hollingsworth. Bears are the Northeastern of the west. Play deep every year but most years just don’t get it done with talent that should get it done. Just saying. Truth is the truth . This coaching staff moves things back to the norm for the bears. Win a crappy conference, the Surry county Super Bowl , roll into the 3rd round and get smacked by a mediocre team that played somebody during the year. Then finish 11-2 and call it a dynasty. Jk knew the division and how to coach to the division. Physical, smash mouth football. Just ain’t there since he left. Back to business as usual for the bears

Mount Airy would have played in the State Championship last year if JK was the HC. And then they would play Tarboro for the 3rd straight year. And Tarboro would have won and then even the series at 2-2.

Maybe, maybe not. Mt Airy had the QB and the Defense to win it all. Only problem was the QB that should have been was exiled to WR due to new staff did not have the "balls" to do what they knew would take them to "3 in a row". Everyone knew it, talked about and wished. And the deficiencies really showed up in the playoffs which ultimately limited the offense to hand to ball to Martin, right, left, and center. And they still almost pulled it off.

This season, the lack of a real offensive plan and the discipline to run it is showing up in spades, even in the two wins.
One more thing, the Freshman QB is not the problem. He is far superior to any other choice we have in all regards except one---if we were going to run the option, then the Junior would, should be the choice.
But with JK Adkins gone, I am not sure we have anyone (coaches) that understands how to run it. We have the players both skilled and less skilled to run it, just not the offensive mind set.

From what I'm reading from pretty dependable posters who knows the team maybe we should have went in different direction in the search in early 24 instead of choosing who the players wanted and sometimes what players want is not always best decision

Calling for coach’s jobs after first reg season loss in 3 yrs? The entitlement is glaring…maybe they need more transfers
Do they have a lot of transfers. I thought that was hard to do. I looked at their roster and it seemed odd they had so much size for a small school. Seemed like there were a dozen 6’plus and 230plus guys on the team. Maybe they just grow them big in MA.

5 in total, I believe. One is a sophomore who actually use to go to MA. Two are new this year from that powerhouse, Surry Central, but I believe they actually moved into the district, the freshman QB from Summerville, SC, and a true portal that transferred last year, again from Surry Central.

MA really has had, and continues to have a great weight room program. Plus we secretly put an additive in the public water supply.........

Just a short few years ago, I believe there was a similar post about JK. One bad game and everyone was calling for his resignation. Talking about how he didn't know his players or how to call a game, etc. Now the same thing. This game may have been a little worse beat down, but here are the MA "faithful" that show up on Fridays and know so much more than anyone in the state... Watauga came out and played good, hard football. They smacked you around a little bit and took you behind the woodshed. I'm hoping that the team (as I would any team) learns from that game, and moves on. It was an old school butt whooping and that's all there is to it. The next few weeks will show a lot of the ability of the coaching staff. Can they motivate the team and move on from it OR do they let one bad game determine their season?

Taylor may not be as good as JK or Holder, but he's also in his 2nd year of being a HC?

P.S. All the "fans" on here talking about the ADMs of MA to Watauga are the same ones that gave Robbinsville a hard time every time they brought it up.

I heard they got a lineman from Reagan as well...don't know - question is, do the MA players (and parents) who are from MA ever get tired of kids coming in to take "their" spot or does winning cure all? I loved their JV QB from last season. Kid is a player
That player has been from every school South Stokes, Reagan, now MA Airy SMH

Every school in the conference has transfers including Forbush. West Stokes probably has 3 or 4 . West had about 160 yards offense and transfer from South Stokes had 140 on 6 carries off bench. Losing lineman in the portal to Greensboro Grimsley hurt.
