Then why did Mac text Matt Jones Friday to tell him his "best friend" had de-committed from Miami and was now considering UK?

A&M's 247 crew is predicting an A&M commit, that's them trying to sway him. However, a lot of national types are trying like hell to get him away from UK. Has he even visited A&M?

Maybe that's what it was. I just asked the person and they said "Rivals" changed their prediction so that makes sense

The Texas A&M homers for 247 evidently are ignoring the dumpster fire that is the Aggie quarterback position. Sumlin is "all hat and no cattle" and the money boys at A&M are starting to circle. I think Briles' success at Baylor has really got Sumlin on the hottest seat this side of Charlie Strong's.

I'll be shocked if Mac Jones ends up at Kentucky. I'm not predicting that he's going to flip, but when you look at the schools that have offered him now, well, it's tough to see him hanging with his Kentucky commitment. Time will tell.

GBB!!!

Unless UK wins less than four games there is virtually zero chance he does NOT end up at UK.

Hope I'm wrong fellas. If he was playing high school ball in Kentucky, I'd probably feel differently. Like I said, time will tell.

And now apparently has a UK offer FWIW.

Maybe we'll offer another 3-4 friends of his?

He's DEFINITELY worth offering 10 of his friends if that's what it takes to keep him. Need to remember that he has camped with the best of the best players.

Great seeing him take the lead in selling UK, especially considering he's from a talent rich area of the country.

Is he taking other visits? I'm willing to take him at his word until I see otherwise.

Definitely out of character for you Erik! The chips seem to be falling in out favor at this point. UF, FSU, UM, BAMA have all offered but have their QBs. UGA, LSU, USCjr, OSU, all have guys committed and/or stud freshmen coming in.
With the instate schools and Bama not in play, I like our chances...IF the season goes well or even OK. If the wheels come off then all bets are off..

Obviously he is interested. If not he would have shut down his recruitment. A good showing this season from UK and all is good.
I thought on his last visit with MS and touring the new facilities he said that was what he was doing? I know MS was on ksr twice that morning and was giddy on the show after meeting with MJ and EC when he supposedly told MS that is what he was doing and was set on being a CAT.

6 or more wins we will keep him. 5 or less we won't in my opinion. Also Gran/Hinshaw needs to fix the offense. We can't have another season of poor QB play. It doesn't make sense for Jones to honor his commitment if we can't coach QBs to perform as they should.

I think that is about right, and I expect us to win at least six. It will be interesting to see if he continues to recruit to UK and if the players he wanted to join him here commit or stay committed.

TBCat, I think 2016 is going to be beyond critical in keeping Jones committed to Kentucky.

I have no idea what that will entail though. Does UK need to win six games? Do the young o-lineman need to show some promise? Does Barker need to have a breakout season? Who knows.

You are absolutely correct. Kevin Sumlin's days are likely numbered.

Yep. Like I said before. It would take a combination of (not just one or the other) a big time school close to home AND a really bad season for us for him to change and even then it's a long shot he would do it. .the situation sets up too nice here and he likes it to much so far to change. Relax, No need to worry about every new offer

What part of taking other visits screams to you that he has shut down his recruitment.
Who said he shut down his recruiting? I was under the impression he included a qualifier when he talked about his commitment. In any case why do fans think a kid not even of legal age can not change his mind about a life decision if he feels he made a mistake? That seems to me to be very narrow-minded of an adult to put a kid in that position. It's kind of like "My desire trumps your comfort with this decision so please me!"

I think Stoops will be at UK a lot longer than Sumlin will be at A & M......Given the grind of the SECW, the Aggies could end up last in that division. They are not paying Sumlin ~$5M per year to finish last.....

At the end of 2016, I think A & M and Auburn will be looking for new coaches......
