Love it. I noticed we pulled Houston Harding after only +/- 30 pitches on Tuesday. I wonder if they're planning on piggybacking him off of one of our hard throwing RHP.

FRISTOE earned that Sunday spot.

If he was going to bump somebody it should've been Cerantola. There's no doubt who has performed better during non conference between Cerantola and Fristoe. This is a head scratcher.

Yes Fristoe has earned the spot but in the grand scheme of things I like this move. Don’t want to tax a true freshman’s arm, especially one with such potential, if you don’t have to. This will pay off in the long run. And hell, if nothing else and Cerantola sucks this weekend, tell Fristoe hope you enjoyed your weeks rest, now let’s get your *** back to work

I'd agree with this also. We should still ahve plenty of opportunities for Fristoe through the weekend, and hopefully at the end of the year, he's still fresh and not hitting a freshman wall (not sure that's still as much of a thing with how much travel ball they play in high school now).

Really good news to see Bednar is ready to start on Saturday. LSU's Saturday guy has been their best so far.

Expected Fristoe to start Sunday regardless of who started Saturday, but I'm not questioning the decision. Cerantola may be the best pure talent we have on the pitching staff. I understand the coaches wanting to be able to use him in a weekend starting role. The good news is we are deep. If any starter has trouble, we have guys to provide relief, including Fristoe.

It’s really not a head scratcher and probably the right move.

Don’t get caught up in who is starting the game out. Fristoe has earned innings and will still get them this weekend. Starting your wild card pitcher on Sunday is the best move because if he’s on then you get five great innings then go to Fristoe. If not, then Fristoe will just be brought in earlier. I’d rather have my more reliable guy later in the game anyway.

You can’t just give up on Cerentola right now, so he has to get some innings. Being the Sunday starter is probably the best time to get those innings.

We have a ton of options out of the pen.

Smith, Harding, Koestler, and Fristoe can all give you long relief. Sims, Johnson, and Stinnett have dominant stuff. This doesn’t even take into consideration Price, Simmons, Tepper, Carmouche, Lovett, Hunt, etc.

I’d argue that midweek games against overmatched non conference teams is the best time to get those innings.

I'd prefer Fristoe to Cerantola on Sunday but I'm sure he'll be ready to come in pretty quickly.

We'll also need someone ready to back up Bednar on Saturday. He won't be able to throw more than four or five innings.

Well, as others have pointed out, if we are going to start Cerantola, Sunday is the best time. It gives us the best chance to make up runs against weaker pitching, if he puts us in an early hole. Having said that, if he comes out throwing wild right off the bat, he needs to be replaced quickly.

Well, it makes more sense to use Cerantola as a starter than a reliever....

If he was going to bump somebody it should've been Cerantola. There's no doubt who has performed better during non conference between Cerantola and Fristoe. This is a head scratcher.

Then at least if he loses control you can limit the damage a little better. I have a feeling that Eric will be on a short rope and will be pulled at the first sign of trouble. I fully expect Fristoe to pitch more innings on Sunday than Cerantola does.

Does it really matter? We are loaded at pitcher

And the staff knows it, trust the process.

^^^ Using Cerantola as an opener is about all we can hope for out of him right now. Having FRISTOE ready to come in afterward makes sense, and hopefully Cerantola gets on track.

I’m totally making an assumption here, but kudos to FRISTOE for being a team player and doing what’s best for the team. /cough, Landon Jordan...

/not sure why my autocorrect capitalizes FRISTOE, but it seems appropriate.
