Bad night last night as Western Michigan reached six wins and bowl eligibility and Kent State moved to 4-6 and kept their hopes alive as well. Three more MAC games tonight but only two that matter.

  • Buffalo at Central Michigan - both are 5-4 so someone gets magic #6 tonight. Buffalo has the harder remaining schedule, so pull for Central Michigan tonight and then hope Buffalo goes on to lose their next two. Central Michigan can also help out next week by beating Kent State, thus eliminating them from bowl contention
  • Toledo at Miami (OH) - same thing with this one, both are 5-4 so one gets eligible tonight. The loser has two more cracks at it against teams that are also fighting to get to six.
The MAC has two teams already eligible and could have as many as eight by the time it's all said and done. Last year they had seven who made it in.

Thursday game between Troy and Old Dominion doesn't matter - both already have 6 wins.

Friday's Clemson-Louisville game probably doesn't matter. Clemson is 4-5 but they have Furman next week which will get them to 5 wins and they are way ahead of us in the APR.

As for the weekend, just still way too many games left to do a real rooting guide. Easy way is pull for the teams with 6+ wins when they are playing a team with 5 or fewer wins. After this weekend maybe it will be a little more manageable to think about.

Should not we also be rooting for our players to pay attention in the classrooms better than they do in the video review rooms?
