There might be a thread covering this already but I just heard a replay of today's broadcast of Mike "Mad Dog" Russo talking about his prediction of the national championship game being between MSU and Boise State with MSU winning it. I thought it was a joke at first but he mentioned that State was not tested this weekend against Memphis. He also stated that our schedule was set up perfect for an undefeated season. Did anyone else hear this? Could anyone who listens to him on a regular basis elaborate on his thoughts?

I listen to him a good bit, and I wouldn't put a whole lot of stock into what he says about college sports. He is more of a pro sports guy, especially baseball

You take away pro sports and tennis from him and he is just a blabbering cockroach on crack. He knows very little about college sports.

Who cares if he is full of crap - him or Skipo Bayless either one - the fact is we are starting to get a little bit of recognition and respect nationally even if it is only on the perifery right now. Enjoy it and quit bitchin'. Jeez - you guys are never happy....

That we play Auburn, South Carolina, Alabama, Arkansas, Georgia& LSU. Not saying that we can't win, but "schedule set up" as compared to Boise, no way.

Fixed it for you. I don't think anyone is too intimidated by Auburn. I also think Georgia is going to be a very beatable team this year. I have them in the 7-5 range, finishing 4th in the East, which will probably cost Richt his job.

I think South Carolina looks like a good sleeper at the moment, though they showed some cracks defensively Saturday. Of course Bama, Arkansas, and LSU will all be tough this year.

He's fairly entertaining. He reminds me of the typical "New Yawker. " When visiting Vegas, I try to rent a car with Sirius radio to catch his show. It surprises me to read of his MSU prediction. While in Vegas a few weeks ago, I caught a Fox Sports roundtable (on radio) of guys predicting the conferences. One guy "wanted" to pick us to win the West, but ended up picking Bama.

but yeah, I heard some of his comments too while travelling and thought that was a mighty bold prediction.
