WWS QB broke his collarbone in the 3rd. Lack of depth is going to be a problem. Defense is still pretty good though. It might be a struggle for the Tigers

A fair question if MS had opened vs a couple of doormats and lost to both. But that's not the case here.

I don't hate any teams, but high on my list of least favorite programs is MS. That said, however, I have to give MS credit for scheduling two tip tier programs for their non-con schedule. And it's not just this year. It's most years that they do this. I can't tell you how shameful I think it is to see schools like Marist schedule DuSable and LWE elect to play a school like Lincoln Park.

MS will be fine once they get into conference play.

Ehhh a loss is not the problem. When you play a good program theres always the possibility of a loss. Getting clocked in the 1st half is cause for concern. Especially when you are accustomed to playing at a particular level for so long and this is one of your playoff rivals. I am sure they'll be fine in conference play.

As for WWS a loss to Lake Park is alarming. And even the win vs a WN who just got handled by JCA. I guess these things really go in cycles, but it had appeared for a while that WWS and MS were impervious to these cycles.

Don't have any insight into WWS, but one thing that's been apparent in the last number of years is a lack of offensive production. And it doesn't seem to be a one or two year anomaly. it seems like they've struggled offensively for a number of years. Not sure what the reason for that is. Maybe Clown can shed some light. I know they lost their starting QB last night. Their defenses seem to be as strong as ever in recent years.

I think Naz needs to string together multiple years of long runs before they deserved to be hammered for the non con schedule.

Before last years team Naz was like most of the pack in the ESCC behind JCA. They were usually looking to get the 5-6 wins necessary to qualify for the playoffs.

You should talk about all the kids that were kicked out, rejected, and a felon on your current rooting interest.

Dino - Bloomington was put on the Naz schedule while they had a 25+ year playoff streak going. I don't think anyone could have seen the 2-7 season coming 18 months prior. As for Leo, Nazareth had a long running series with RB (albeit not a great team, but a neighborhood rival) that got cancelled by RB. Nazareth scrambled to find a game for week 2. It's easy to be critical from the cheap seats, but scheduling for HS football is not as easy as saying "we should play tougher teams". The adiministrators and coaches have a lot of factors to consider.

About two years ago, it was apparent that WWS' run of excellence was about over. I went to games for years when the Tigers were rolling and their sophomore and lower level teams nearly always went undefeated or nearly so. Then, about two years ago, the sophomore team was losing and lower levels as well. A well-connected parent told me last year's senior class was the last chance for a good season for awhile. I'm not as plugged in over there as before, but that's what I was told two years ago and it looks to be playing out.

Agree, Scheduling is not easy, ask SFHS...

C'mon, Ladies. This is sounding more like the movie trailer for "Mean Girls 2" rather than a Football Message Board.

I was going to write response about the program at WWS since that is what this thread is suppose to be about but once again another thread gets hijacked and becomes about Naz. You guys make this board suck and wonder why new people don't want to post here.

While I agree that the naz folk are a little sensitive, you cant even ask about how their O-line is doing without getting accused of having a hidden agenda.

But this derailing was not caused by the naz folk, just some meatballer making an irrelevant point.

Clown,

I agree. I have posted very few times because I get frustrated when so many posts get hijacked by Naz or CCL Blue fans. I'm sure both Maine South and WWS will still win a few games this year. Lake Park won't get much respect until they beat a few more DVC opponents. I'm hoping Chris Roll can get 5 or more wins this season but know it will be tough.

Epic,

I certainly was not commenting on any lack of posts regarding Maine South or WWS. I was just frustrated when I saw another thread disintegrate because of posts not related to the original topic. Since LP beat WWS, I thought about posting info about the Lancers. But, by that time, the thread was headed in a completely different direction AGAIN. I'm sure I am not the only one frustrated by this continuous behavior,

BTW. I enjoy your humor.

Trust me, I hate having to talk about Naz these days. Outside of talking gridiron I don't want to bring up the squad. Yet since before last season we started getting heat from ill-bred trash like Dino, or just people who are pissed about who knows what. I've joked about this with other Naz folks, but please, unless you are talking the merits of the men on the field, keep our name out your mouth.

I'd love to talk Lancers or DVC, granted I prefer Tricase talk in that regards

I heard the same. After 2012, the program has seen a hit in D1 talent. A couple of exceptions, of course, but their depth has been lacking.

Bones- I can't say I am surprised by the 0-2 record. MC and LA are loaded this year as usual and we are an average MS team. Now I think MS can win a few playoff games given the right draw, but with the 1-32 seeding who knows. Circle Oct 9 on your calendar. MS @ NT. Be afraid. Be very afraid!

The other kid is good, they just aren't getting scoring. Watched a bit of the first game and teams are keying the run. The GN defense is typical... good and tough, but I'm not sure if defense can win a conference this good

Again my appologies for my part of the "Hijacking"

Back to point are there any scenarios where either WWS or MS don't make the playoffs? It appears that WWS has a tougher road to 5 victories in the DVC but should get there. I believe MS gets at least 5 maybe all 7 remaining wins.

WWS road is definitely tougher, they've been down this road before and found their way in... Difference though is it didn't include a loss to LP.

By the way, @LPCoachDB go ahead and inform us on the program... Perfect time to do so. I am guilty of it this time, but I hate when some schools win an unexpected game some people refuse to give that school credit and instead attribute it to the other school being bad. We don't really know for a couple more weeks.

As for MS the NT game did get more interesting. I think I watched last years contest that was a good game. Then again my memory is fading.
