WWS road is definitely tougher, they've been down this road before and found their way in... Difference though is it didn't include a loss to LP.

By the way, @LPCoachDB go ahead and inform us on the program... Perfect time to do so. I am guilty of it this time, but I hate when some schools win an unexpected game some people refuse to give that school credit and instead attribute it to the other school being bad. We don't really know for a couple more weeks.

As for MS the NT game did get more interesting. I think I watched last years contest that was a good game. Then again my memory is fading.
Doesn't LP have a DT going to MSU? Isn't exactly a top flight program in the state, but it's not like they are completely barren with talent....

Again my appologies for my part of the "Hijacking"

Back to point are there any scenarios where either WWS or MS don't make the playoffs? It appears that WWS has a tougher road to 5 victories in the DVC but should get there. I believe MS gets at least 5 maybe all 7 remaining wins.

There is simply no way Maine S doesn't make the playoffs in that conference, in fact even after a 0-2 start where they've been described as "terrible" by some that have seen them, it would still come as a surprise if they lost a game in conference.

Bones- I can't say I am surprised by the 0-2 record. MC and LA are loaded this year as usual and we are an average MS team. Now I think MS can win a few playoff games given the right draw, but with the 1-32 seeding who knows. Circle Oct 9 on your calendar. MS @ NT. Be afraid. Be very afraid!

this puts a lot in perspective. to think how few programs win a couple of playoff games...then to think how few can even call that an average year...

pulling for MS to return

There are probably three or four division one players on this team. It's not like this team is without talent.

All the great WWS teams have typically had a really good QB. The Thorne era saw a 10 year stretch of awesome QBs from Jeff Thorne to Jeff Brown, Tim Lester, Tim Brylka and Jon Beutjer.

All of those teams also had great talent on offense as well like Marvell Scott, Phil Adler, Bobby Nelson, Kasey Klaas, Kelly Crosby, Jon Schweighardt, Eric McGoey, Jerome Collins etc.

The Muhitch era has had one good QB-Reilly O'Toole, and one dominant RB-Dan Dierking.

Their QB play has been terrible since O'Toole left and they haven't had a dominant RB that could carry an offense like Dierking did.

Not sure exactly what is going on at WWS these days. For a while there I thought Muhitch was going to easily surpass Thorne's 4 state titles. Now he'll be lucky to win 1 more before he retires.

Where is the WWS talent going? Benet? SF? It's not like Wheaton stopped playing pee wee football, so I'm curious if there has been a shift in talent to the private schools or just a dry up of talent?

Crazy to see MS and WWS down though, no question.

At WWS overall the numbers are down for a variety of reasons but this is no different from what happened previously from 00-04 but it is a bigger drop off this time. I wouldn't write the off for dead yet but the next few years they will only an above average team as opposed to top tier which they have been for most of the previous 25. I think once there is a coaching change things will pop for the Tigers, Muhitch is a great coach but he has worn people out no different than Thorne did when he was coming to the end. New blood will breath life right back into the program.

mchsalumni,

Not sure its gone anywhere else. I dont think SF or Benet have picked up to many kids. Since 2008 SF won a title and made the semis. Benet made the semis too.

But over the same time, WWS has won 2 titles and made the title game a 3rd time.

The O'Tooles sent a couple of kids to SF and then sent Reilly to WWs because of the football progam.

I grew up out there and graduated from SF I know alot of people at South have complained about coaching but I don't think St Mikes is sending more kids to SF in the past few years because of football. Benet gets a ton of Wheaton kids from St Mikes and a small number go to Wheaton north and South.

I am sure SF had less than 30 kids for freshman football this year and they don't have sophmore football because they only had 20 kids come out this year. They went to a jv team.

If there is a drop in talent its all around.
