Who is "Delta Str"? Is that North Delta in Batesville? If not, what happened to the North Delta Green Wave? Is the 1A Tunica, TIL? I thought they were a much bigger school? Did the influx money in that county make the public schools better? Looks like Winston Academy has gone from 1A to 3A in 15 years...thanks Hud.

Initial thoughts:

1. Four classifications: AAAA, AAA, AA, A - Jackson's three schools in AAAA are in three different districts.
2. Nearly all the schools in that play 8-man football are in the new-style Class A. There are three AA schools that will be playing 8-man. (they are current old-style A schools - Franklin, Tallulah, and Christian Collegiate).
2. University Academy of Central Louisiana makes the jump from old-style Class A to AAAA, division II.
3. Winona Christian, Canton, Tri-County, Wayne, Oak Hill, Prairie View, Amite, Prentiss Christian, River Oaks, and Glenbrook move down from old-style AA to new AA (which can be thought of as the currently larger Class A schools).
4. Briarfield, Tunica, Deer Creek, and DeSoto are the only new-style Class A schools that will be playing 11-man football.

I'd love to hear the story of why someone in Greenwood thought they needed another academy. I'm sure there were no hurt feelings or politics whatsoever involved in that .

It's actually a church run school for underprivileged kids. Learn the whole story before you post.

Yeah, I guess it makes sense to start a new school rather than just fund scholarships to Pillow.

Not that Pillow is expensive for a private school, but I'm guessing they spend half the amount per pupil that it would cost to send them to Pillow. The workers their are virtually volunteers and they get a lot of in kind support from the community that couldn't/wouldn't be matched in monetary donations.

How is AAAA going to do the playoffs with three districts?

I don't know. A variation of the old NFL playoff process with the three divisions in the NFC & AFC come to mind. Another, and perhaps a more likely scenario, district winners will have the top three seeds (with them being sorted by power points) and other participants are determined by power points.

I would not be surprised if it was decided that all AAAA teams would have to participate in football playoffs since it'd be only one extra round.

They may as well just make a rule that JP, JA, MRA and PCS will be the playoff teams every year.
