Haven't seen this posted and didn't see it in a search.

I imagine there are some boards blowing up about it over there. I couldn't imagine the meltdown around here that would happen if something like this came to light during the last week of crootin season.

Any of our texas dawgs have more info on what is going on?

I usually get the scoop on a lot of things Texas from some co-workers.... I've seen this story but none of them have mentioned it to me. I'm not sure it's that big of a deal, unless the story has grown into something else.

If he just got a little stinky pinky on a bowl game trip, then I don't see the big deal that it would be making now (he's already been punished for it).

Woof. Maybe she's a super freak in bed.

Sounds to me this is coming out now because they just forced a women's coach to resign for basically the same thing.

Yeah exactly the same thing, womens track coach was doing another woman and said woman happened to be a student athlete though.

That's right--I'll serve as double or triple confirmation

I live in Austin, and I happened to catch this on the local news the other night. The only reason the board of regents is dealing with it is because of the women's coach who was let go for the same thing.

Applewhite is still a hero around here, from what I can gather. They gladly would've swept this under the rug for that guy.

Live in Austin as well. They have made this a low key story around here.

I guess his promotion could be a problem.

I'm on my phone, so I'm prepared for this to reply randomly.

They definitely are keeping it low-key. On the story on KXAN (NBC), they went so far as to do a side by side comparison: Applewhite's incident was a random one-night tryst with a legal-aged girl who happened to be a student, while the track coach carried on a lengthy "relationship" with a student athlete on her team.

The only place the board will encounter trouble is that they didn't discipline Applewhite at the time, and they promoted him after.

Thujone might have something to say.
