Although the underdog records are the same (4 wins), we were up and coming while OM is in a downward spiral. You could definitely tell we were vastly improved over the previous year. We were playing more like a 6+ win team but had an awful schedule and still almost pulled off a few legitimate upsets (by that i mean almost flat out beating the other team, not getting lucky). OM has been shitting the bed all season... even with a cupcake schedule.
I don't know how the SEC bowl picture was shaking out last year, but I doubt OM felt as much pressure as we do to pick up this win to improve our bowl position.
Our fanbase was completely energized by the visible improvements transpiring on the field. OM's fanbase is demoralized.
And lastly, how can OM get up after such a tough loss in their "real rivalry" game.
All that said, i like our chances in this eggbowl. I think we are obviously the better team, but this is the eggbowl and it is in oxford so who the ++@@ know what will happen.
