It was hot in London this week. Everybody was out having a lovely time. Seems global warming is tits.
Thanks for bringing me back to Earth. Warm weather in London, in May, proves to me that man has changed the climate.
If, IF, it were 'man made global warming", then WHY don't we call it that? Why did the name change to "Climate Change'''? If you really wanted to hit home why would you just reiterate the fact that climate changes?

Extreme hot weather, extreme cold weather, drought, floods, hurricanes, no hurricanes, earthquakes, volcano eruptions, blizzards, no snow, wildfires are all lumped under “climate change”.
It was hot as hell during the summer of 1986. Was hot as hell during the summer of 1996. So on so forth. Guess what, it gets hot during the summer. It will get hot this summer.

The people in London acted like a mid-eighties day with sun in May was like capturing a unicorn. So yeah, proof.
Real answer - the earth is warming. As a consequence of that, the climate changes. A warning earth influenced mostly by carbon dioxide is overwhelmingly supported in science. Climate change is the effect that will/is producing.

soooo, if the Earth is warming due, as one poster suggested, to man made carbon emissions, then what caused the Earth to warm the other bazillion times over it's history? dinosaur farts? aliens, Trump? now that the Paddock has also taught me the Earth is flat, how does carbon emissions effect the climate change differently than before when we thought the Earth was round?
on a side note, just found out last night that 3 young whipper snappers we have working here are firm believers and consider themselves "young Earthers". whole heatedly believe the Earth is a couple thousand years old. never knew. so does climate changers change their thinking on this if our planet is only a little older than Jesus?

I'll agree its warming as a billions of years earth has before. Dinosaurs weren't driving escalades around. The point is...tell me how much humans contribute. If theres a natural progression to begin with and we are contributing 10%, for example, what is the point. Are you under some belief the govt will save you? Hate to break it to you, China is pumping **** in the air all over...maybe you didn't notice...we are all under the same atmosphere. Stop being an earth evolution denier.
So in the 70’s we were told another ice age was coming. Did not happen, then we were told islands would disappear and New York would be under water, did not happen. Now we have climate change that is huge basket that every severe weather event we have is blamed on. Keep moving the goal posts and changing the name.
Fact is the globe has had climat change since it was formed.
Answer me this, if man is causing it, then what is the one thing man can do to stop it? If we are the cause then we can fix it, so that the climate never, ever changes again. Count me in, I want 80 degrees year round with no hurricanes and tornados, no more flood or droughts. How can I help you guys?

Unfortunately we've passed the point that we can really fix it. Without developing tech to get carbon out of the atmosphere, there isn't much hope.
Regarding the ice age, here are the numbers on how relatively few papers (even in the 70s) predicted cooling and their reasoning for doing so.
Slower warming periods were precipitated largely by changes to Earths orientation and orbit. Those past quick warming periods (the ones that cause mass extinctions) were caused by rapid emissions of greenhouse gases from natural sources. Today we're that source.
I remember the climate change crowd ringing their hands and crying about how the deep water Horizon oil spill would be a global catastrophe, the ocean would be polluted for generations. And then the oil mysteriously disappeared. The oceans are fine, we are fine.
But if you believe carbon is the culprit, why not just ban all fossil fuel use. Then we can go back to living life as they did in the centuries before fossil fuel. Walking , riding horses, no electricity, no bottle water, no city water or sewers, no plastics. Would that not help?

CO2 isn't even close to being the main driver of our climate. It just happens to be one that we can be taxed on.

Yup and now the CIA/NSA remotely control your phone's mic to record the number of farts you lit in a day. They will use that data along with your geo location, bank/credit card statements to determine how many White Castles you bought from the same farting cows you just smashed from that crave case. Now it gets real scary when the AI algorithms determine your methane emissions rating to determine your gas tax. You might want to put the onion rings down unless you want to pay more taxes for Al Gore's beach home.
