The superintendent of an Eastern Kentucky school district said "appropriate disciplinary action has been taken" after photos surfaced showing students giving lap dances to staff as part of Hazard High School's homecoming week festivities.

During spirit week last year one of the themes was beach day and a girl wore a 2 piece bikini with a see through cover up and nobody said a word. Of course her mom works in the office so I guess that's why.

I remember when the football players would dress as ugly cheerleaders and women for homecoming. 😂 That was over 20 years ago. No one got danced on but it was always a good laugh.

Can’t believe the admin signed off on this and oh boy, the days of everyone having a camera in their pocket. Glad that wasn’t around when I was in high school.

Anyway, this should just be a local issue. Definitely not a national issue.

Same here. Looking back in the 90's there was all kinds of crazy stuff like this that happened in high school where I went but no one made a stink of it. Smart phones have changed so many things in society.

I think the biggest travesty is that the principal isn't wearing a mask. Absolutely terrible. That alone is a fireable offense.

The only thing that comes close to this that happened at my school was during the senior slide show (which consisted of like 10 people because most of us didn't give a crap) there was a picture of a dude grabbing his girlfriends boob. Everyone laughed and that was the end of it.

That is really bad. To me, the most absurd is someone thought it was a good idea to post the pictures on the schools social media. I can't believe anyone could think that was a good idea.

The Kentucky principal shown this week in homecoming photos depicting students performing lap dances was accused in a 2019 lawsuit of not properly chaperoning a school trip during which one student allegedly raped another student. The lawsuit filed in Perry Circuit Court against Donald “Happy” Mobelini and two Hazard High School teachers is ongoing. A jury trial is scheduled for August 2022, according to court records. Mobelini is also the mayor of Hazard.

In 2008, Mobelini was investigated twice for alcohol incidents involving students. The Herald-Leader reported that in one situation, photos surfaced online of him driving students around as they smoked and drank alcohol. Mobelini came under similar criticism in 2008 after police caught students drinking on the school’s football field moments after he left them. Mobelini did not get into trouble in either case because he was unaware of the drinking, a Herald-Leader article at the time said.

Very weird story. I couldn't care less about the woke, cancel culture losers getting upset about this but as a normal person weird theme and weird story.

Some of this stuff is similar to what we did in high school but good Lord, apparently homecoming week at Hazard is just a free for all with not teacher intervention.
