So the article on ESPN isn't clear on WHO issued the suspension. Was it the NCAA or the school?

Sounds like a beating on the field is inevitible. Maybe some player will suspend him indefinitely.
This blows my mind. I understand "hammering" Prior by essentially forcing him to go pro. But why in the hell did they impose penalties on the school? They could have claimed firing Tressell was sufficient.
Maybe their play to keep the big money schools from bolting to a different organization is to make it clear that they don't have to play by the same rules, and they just didn't realize the threat they were facing when they handed down the Ohio St penalties. Otherwise it's just weird as hell. It's like their goal is to create an environment where no rhyme or reason can be discerned from their actions.

So a guy that apparently was involved in 6 figures worth of improper benefits/whatever, gets 1/2 a game suspension & some kid on our team has to sit out a whole season for what, a few hundred dollars?

In the last decade of our dealings with the NCAA, I have yet to see one ounce of evidence that would lead me to believe that "cooperating" with them pays any dividends whatsoever. In fact, I think it's completely counter-productive in that once you feed them enough bits and pieces of info, it's like we leave them no choice but to come down on us with something. I'm with you. We had a booster and coach that were brought to light by fat *** Devinner. And we admitted it, fire the coach and booster, and dove on their mercy. Then we let the player dangle in the wind. Don't think that other schools wouldn't let prospects know how "we" take care of ours" by sending them in unrepresented and losing eligibility on Devinners testimony.
I agree with firing that dude. Is he even an attorney? What is his expertise and how did he get that job?
