If only he still had Croom around to be a father figure to him. Maybe the sheep on Genespage will finally realize that Croom fed everyone a bunch of **** when it came to recruiting character.

Green's career at State seems to be in jeopardy.

I was pointing out that Croom looks more and more like an idiot for claiming that he only recruited character. I wasn't bitching about Green getting arrested.

I know I know..."awl th stewdents smoke mary wanner". Well, if everybody on the field is a F u ckin' pothead, why should I support their habit? Why should I support the students who go to Mississippi State if everyone on campus is spending all their spare time hitting bongs, listening to thrash metal, and badmouthing their country?

coming up. You've certainly hit the nail on the head. This is all that goes on and, frankly, I hate to see you and your family exposed to such things

Why should I support the students who go to Mississippi State if everyone on campus is spending all their spare time hitting bongs, listening to thrash metal, and badmouthing their country?

I just learned from this thread that EVERYBODY at MState is a pothead (presumably even the BSUers). If MState is full of nothing of bong-bangin', doob-toking losers, maybe we deserve to lose 10 games a year.

kick his *** off and everyone else that does. Why should Green or Langston or anyone else get another chance just because he wears a jock and a helmet. I'm sick and tired of seeing our athletes getting caught doing this and I don't care if "everybody" else's players are doing it too. It's an embarrassment to the school, plain and simple. You break the law, you walk.

If you kicked off every player that has ever failed a drug test or gotten caught with pot....
You would lose a lot of the football and basketball team..

It's strike one, he will work his *** off with Balis and either quit from the punishment or regret his decision from the hell he receives.

I'm guessing any of you yelling kick him off don't want Langston back on the team either.
Do I agree with smoking pot..hell no, but is it worthy of kicking him off the team over. No.

Whether we deserve it or not, we usually do lose 10 games a year. Well, maybe not really, but we lose more than we care to lose. I'm not even sure if I give a **** anymore, even with the hoopla surrounding the hiring of Mullen. There's just too much cynicism built up inside me for all kinds of reasons.

I don't know, tt's probably just a bad day for me. Pretty soon I'll probably be getting that annual feeling of hope and excitement surrounding the upcoming football season, only to be shot back down to reality after MSU hits the field a few times.

we're just supposed to shake our heads, say "aw shucks" and write it off as no big deal every freakin time one of our players gets arrested? Look, believe me, I'm not trying to sound holier than thou. We all make mistakes. But when you're in the public eye, get arrested for breaking the law (drugs, battery, etc.), you're held to a higher standard and you should pay. I look at college athletics like a job, and I know darn well that I would lose my job in a flash if I was arrested for smoking pot. I just don't think some athletes take their scholarship very seriously or like a job.

Comparing the consequences of an assault and battery versus having some weed should hardly be compared and receive the same punishment.
and you can compare college sports all you want to a job, but it's not the same. Yes you would get fired for popping a positive.
Athletes not so much. Athletics does not play in a fair world and never will..and if you try to play perfect you will get left in the dust by everyone else.
Go find me any other team in the SEC that would kick off a football player for his first offense for getting caught with a small amount of pot.

Just as I said, we are fighting to get maurice langston back while any other person in this world getting pulled over in a car with that much pot would be severely <17>'d

I'm not saying it's right that athletes are allowed to get away with more, but as long as athletics is the major business it is in this world and it always will be..
athletes will receive perks, benefits, and get away with more than the common man in his job.

The part that just bothers me the most is the respect issue. You're right, these guys know that smoking pot is not gonna cost them their scholly altogether at first, so why worry about the first offense? It would be nice for at least a year to put up with this - to say, hey, at least our guys are smart enough to not get caught. Just wishful thinking, I know.

going to get busted when they are getting high or driving drunk. Most, if not all, probably dismiss the idea with: "I'm straight, I'm good."

College kids smoke pot. I am all about discipline. I am not big on people that repeat violations regularly. But **** happens. You don't want to support collage kids that smoke dope? As an engineer, ha guess what...

I'm not alone. Not even ******* I N G close.

If he can help us win, let him play. Kick someone off the team for smoking pot? That's ******* stupid.

Let's just not play football, then we'll never have a football player get caught smoking pot.

But by some of the comments made here, looks like were sitting in a stadium full of pot heads. Maybe that's enables most to get through some of our football games. ;)

... Just because you spend money and drive hours doesn't guarantee maxium effort or even a "give a damn" from some players. I wish they all had the heart of Dicenzo Miller but unforunately they don't. You go to games for your entertainment. Because if you are going for someone else or some cause, you are sure to be disappointed.

With all that said though, smoking weed is as common and accepted as was drinking beer 20 years ago. I have no idea about the 60s and 70s but I would imagine weed is as popular as it has ever been right now. It is in every town too....even the smallest. So, every team, university, and sport in the USA has players that smoke weed. It sucks that Green smokes and got busted but I don't hold it against State, Mullen, or Croom.

I know you were on the 17 widespread panic bandwagon, but potheads don't listen to thrash metal. We are not the 80's anymore.

young whipper-snappers don't do anything these days but listen to that there heavy metal and smoke their mary jane while talking bad about the great nation we live in (then procedes to bust out in the National Anthem).

Cut us students a break, when's the last time you've had a 10 page paper due on the same day as a Heat Transfer test and a Thermo II exam?

State is a lot better than most schools, most just pretend it doesn't happen

but they dont deserve to be kicked off the team. If the worst thing they do in life is smoke a little pot, they're not bothering me.

note: I do not smoke pot

It's only fair.

You are in effect kicking them out of school, as they will leave, so you have to do it for the rest of the student body too.

I work with his uncle and he says this is not true. In fact he called Marcus' mother while I was standing there and i could here her screaming that she was going to kick his *** if it were true. She went to the school last night to yank a knot in his *** and found out this was false.
