Let's think outside the box just a bit. - 141-50 at Georgia. - 9 seasons with 10 or more wins. - 7 top 10 finishes. - 22 players taken in the last four NFL Drafts. - Produced 7 NFL RBs including most recently Todd Gurley & Nick Chubb (soon to be). - 7 NFL WRs including No. 4 overall selection A.J. Green. - 5 NFL QBs including No. 1 overall selection Matt Stafford. - Fla ties/pipeline: went to HS in Boca Raton, played QB at Miami and was a GA or assistant at Fla State for 12 years. Not to mention recruits elsewhere throughout the south. Richt's on the hot seat again because his resume doesn't meet the standards at UGA and of the SEC. He said he wants to finish his career at UGA, but I'm not sure if UGA feels the same. Yesterday ESPN published an article with the headline: "Loss to Florida might mean it's time for Mark Richt, Georgia to part ways." CBS put out a story 3 days ago titled: "Mark Richt 'loves' Miami, 'but there's been nobody calling' about the job." He also said no one from Miami was "writing, texting or anything." If I'm Gee & Lyons (SEC ties coming from Alabama), I'm keeping a close eye on this at the very least. Richt may be ousted in Athens and available at the season's end since Georgia believes it should do better. Or he could be fed up with the expectations behind the scenes and would entertain the possibility of change.
