Mark Stoops sounds like a fool on post game.

If your players that you recruited and coached keep making mistakes, there are a limited number of possible truths.

1. You recruited uncoachable players.
2. You aren't doing a very good job coaching the players.
3. Some combination of 1 and 2.

He is a fool, so why should he sound like anything other than that? He takes over the defense, and it actually gets worse, which I didn't think was possible. One would assume that by taking over the defense he had less time to drag down the offense. And, of course, the offense actually looked good for an entire game.

You really can't overstate just how bad a football coach he is. It would actually be comical to watch if it were happening at any other place than here.

His team just gave up 42 points to a cellar dweller in the Sun Belt that arrived without its best offensive weapon, he has a budding quarterback controversy, the fanbase is either apathetic or furious, and he's acting content.

And some of you question his intelligence?

I've never seen a defenses like he's had since he's been here.

At least Mike Archer, Steve Brown, and Minter could blame the wide talent gap.

SMU and NMSU looked like SEC squads, and the one SEC team we've played put up a basketball score.

There is something fundamentally and structurally wrong with how CMS and staff are doing things on defense from talent evaluation and development to play calling on the field.

DJ needs to be reassigned or released immediately and MB needs to write a blank check for a top DC in the off season. If CMS has to lose some ego and give up control of things then so be it. Let him be Head Coach/Chief Recruiter

Randy Shannon, Ed Orgeron, Mike Singletary, Gene Chizik, Bo Pelini. Heck give Frank Beamer a call.

Please step up and help the program. While you're at it, stop by Mark's office and enlighten him of your ability to save his job.

I gotta admit, if I'm a player this really makes me angry. If players are constantly making the the same mistakes over and over who's to blame? And it's important to note that we're talking a whole unit here, not just one or two guys. Stoops and Elliott need to look in the mirror before they lay any more blame on the players. It's a coaching problem, not a player problem.

Our D-Line could NOT EVEN GET LINED UP CORRECTLY on most plays...

That is just sad. That is a train wreck. UK does not belong in the SEC.

We do all know that our defense was what kept us in most games last year. (Florida, mizzu,USC vandy, Georgia to an extent) We return two players in the front seven who had pretty much any experience (Elam and ware). Losing Jason Hatcher and Reggie meant up front was unexpected and would of provided another d tackle with experience and a linebacker who has played three years.

I bet we didn't have 5 starts between all the returnees that are playing on the front seven.

It's year 4. Why are youth and depth issues at key positions?
I am glad he has that high buyout because any coach that took over the lack of talent that we had needs 5 to 6 years to turn it around. The true freshmen played better today than some of the losers kids did! While no one can be happy with how we played last season and the first two this year but I still want to see how we do the rest of the season!

I said on this very board we have to give him five years and I wad standing by that all through his tenure including this entire offseason. But the unfathomable regression I have seen this season makes me go back on my word, because I have to factor in last season as well.

I would love to be wrong and be ridiculed every Saturday for being wrong but this ship is sinking and we're not doing ourselves any favors by procrastinating.

I have been patient for 40 years. The $12 million buyout is what pees me off. No bowl this year and Mitch and Stoops both need to go.

They can buy an island together with their cash. Name the island Kentucky. Make Stoops president of the country Kentucky and train Olympic athletes.

A good coach would show some progress. Look at 90% of the successful coaches and see progress pretty quick.

Hey he didn't play Matt Elam! What an adjustment! Bench your top recruit in all 4 years because you couldn't coach him up in 3 years. Really if Elam went to Bama he would've done one of 2 things
1) Been a legit player that contributed, if not a top SEC DLineman (Hard to imagine i Know)
2) Been buried so deep in the depth chart he transfers to UK and puts this effort on the field
