It's hard to get excited

. . . says the man with the Reds logo. [roll]

Just kidding, I am a Reds fan myself. Saw one of the preseason magazines who analyzed the Reds along these lines:

Cincinnati has played baseball since 1869, and the most games it has ever lost in one season is 101. That record may well fall this year . . . :weary:

I've been a Reds fan my entire life. I was 8 and a huge baseball nut when the Reds won their last World Series. I think it's safe to say we're both loyal fans. I'm disgusted with the management. Dusty Baker comes in and builds a respectable ball club and gets fired. UK football, Reds, and Bengals has been a disappointment in my life. UK basketball is my only saving grace in sports.

I am not disappointed in the Bengals at all. If the referees do there jobs correctly Bengals may be superbowl champs. The Reds have no shot at losing 100 games. There better than the experts are predicting. I think they have acquired some nice talent that's ready. A staff of Homer Iglesias Simon Desclafani and Reed will not lose 100 games.

Simon is gone isn't he, to the Tigers last year? Plus Bailey is not even going to pitch until late May at earliest, and I will believe his recovery is complete when I see it.

how in the heck did the defense lose to ul. I saw a game where the first half all we had was defense. 2nd half got worse when we couldnt get a 1st down and the D got worn out chasing 1 man. That was no more than a poor game plan and no change of D when they made their QB change..... Dont blame the kids, All of that belongs on Coach and I love him for what he has done for my team so far, but that has to be part of the game plan, What If........
OK, call it the coaches calling the D. But giving up 314 yards on the ground (8 YPC!) & 500 overall isn't going to win many games.

And the big problem was chasing one man. Question is why players/coaches/whatever weren't keying on that one man vs. going for the fake. As for being worn out, LV only had 3 more O plays than us.

You can not lose every Oct and Nov games.

It's hard to do but we can do it, we have proven that.

Nah, we go bowling this year, all we have to do is win the first six instead of five. What, they changed the schedule again, we play Bama? The dirty dogs.

Nah, we still go bowling. If Brooks two stars can do it our three and four stars can.

That is a problem I agree. But both years that is when the schedule got harder.
Harder is SEC WEST game and some SEC East teams. They are not all supposed to be cupcakes. Look at VANDY and UL, those 2 losses are on Stoops. Good thing he realized it and cleaned house. He needs 6 wins this year.

It's good he is saying these things but it's time to put up or shut up. This is year four and if we don't get to at least a crappy bowl game, the problem lies with the coaching. Still hold out faith though.

Words you will never hear:

Head Coach: "well, they reported out of shape, our freshmen are pretty disappointing, to tell you the truth, the upperclassmen have failed to step up and show any leadership, most of the players have actually watched a lot less film than last year, and the new coaches I hired that I thought would be so hot . . . meh."

I remember Brooks first year. He said he could out run most of the team. Said they were grossly out of shape.

I wouldn't get to caught up in the stars thing. Coach Brooks had some very gritty players playing for him.
