Top CB in the nation.

He's from Birmingham and his dad played at Bama so I'd be shocked if he ended up anywhere other than T-Town, but I'm impressed that he's at least somewhat interested in us.

I've noticed high profile guys like Bo Scarbrough have been on campus lately as well. Even if these kind of guys don't end up committing to us, at least national guys are starting to notice us. They'll come eventually if we keep having success on the field.

Got kicked off, actually. Of course, his dad is Bobby Humphrey, so Bama is the team to beat. But he has seemed to show some interest here, and a visit is never a bad thing. Maybe we can work some magic.

I believe he also set some national record in track recently as well...has shown what I've thought was an almost strange amount of interest in us throughout...

Maybe I'm smoking some good dope, but did we have one of Bobby Humphrey's sons on the team during the Croom years?

No, we recruited him and thought we had a great shot at signing him, then he went to Arkansas late in the process. At least that's how my failing memory recalls it.

This is the guy that tweeted the kkk remark about Ole Miss. He's my biggest wish for MSU. He is a stud CB AND he loves to joke on Ole Miss. Sounds like the perfect Bulldawg to me. Maybe Townsend will start pulling in 5* studs like this after Slay & Banks went 2nd round.

Well let's hope

we can cut down on the vast amount of disparaging remarks on sps about him. Lord knows our program doesn't play a part whatsoever.

Scarbrough has been coming over since he was about 13. Got a great relationship with him but don't see that changing anything. We got on him very early. That seems to be the key with us getting interest from top ranked guys outside of mississippi - be the first to offer them. Just ain't been able to seal the deal.

This will be a critical year for us on the field in terms of recruiting. If the wheels come off, it will collapse, as no one with options will jump on a sinking ship. On the other hand, if we win 7-8 and get a decent bowl, I think the consistency suggests we are just a good recruiting class or two from "movin' on up." The bears are in exactly the same boat.

Apparently Humphrey had great things to say about us and he's done with his

summer visits. Says he still wants to see USC and Florida, but he had a great visit from what I've heard and we're in the mix. Probably take a lot to sign him, but check out these pics...

ETA: The comments on the pictures are interesting. Humphrey said Ole Miss took away his scholarship and kinda clowns on them and says some positive things about us.

Thru

various social media outlets, it appears he's very high on State. Hell we've got a great history (recent) of putting DBs in the league. Whitley, with a good SR year, could be our third in the past two years.

I don't think history is going to determine the success of recruiting this year. It will be the perception of the direction of the program. If the bears start 1-5 and miss a bowl, it could easily cost them some top recruits. RN basically told freeze the rebs had to win the Egg Bowl and go to a bowl or he wasn't coming. He had to think he would be playing for a team that could be a winner. If we have a bad year and miss a bowl, the perception will be that Mullen is in trouble, and our program is on the skids. That would kill us with the best recruits, who want a chance to play for a champion.

He's also not a big fan of how many offers Bama is throwing out apparently

However, beating Alabama in a crootin' battle for a 5* legacy? Not happening. We're damn good at being a second choice though.

He clarified his comment about the number of Bama offers to DBs. He claims his comment was a snide remark about the number of DBs who are "claiming" a Bama offer.

His twitter pic is now of him in State uni..

Appears he likes us a good bit. Would be a great pickup if it does happen.

I think the quote came from his mother, but it is true. The EB and bowl game were big for us.
