They are threatening to sue the SEC. They know that they will be left without a BCS conference when everything shakes out. If there is one thing that Slive is worried about it is money.
I was thinking our annual game w/ TAMU should be dubbed the Bell Bowl and the trophy should be a huge gold/crystal cowbell...
will other schools mock us for this? of course, but they'd do it anyway... and then we can claim a legitimate rival since OM refuses to admit we're theirs.

I'm trying to understand why you think A&M would put some sort of relevance to the cowbell as opposed to the Maroon jersey, which pertains to both teams. I know for a fact that the University of Texas has a cowbell tradition, they ring them at games. But I'm not sure why some people think Texas A&M does. Is there something out there I don't know? I searched for any hint of A&M having some cowbell tradition online and couldn't find any.hooch1275 said:

A&M does NOT use the cowbell as that is something the Longhorns use although on a smaller scale. Inhooch1275 said:

you aren't the only one I have seen. Had I not gone to Austin the year we played Texas and seen them ringing the bells I probably wouldn't have known either.
Their band members carry them as instruments. Yeah, they are much smaller than our bells, but opponents cannot stop the band members from carrying them. Of course, the SWC, Big-whatever never banned cowbells, but I do remember Texas band members bringing their bells to Auburn in the early '80s and getting away with it.
