We had the same question and you beat me by a few seconds.

Now that it has been confirmed that 2 of USM's pitchers are academically ineligible, the looming question is what did the athletic department know and WHEN did they know it? Did USM just play 2 ineligible players in the Rice series?

that wouldn't happen until the semester officially ended. That would be several days after the last exams. Maybe even more than a week.

  • Grades are posted on the Monday after full-term exam for all courses regardless of when the course ended. Students will have access to view the grades via the SOAR self service page if they have completed their Faculty Evaluations via their SOAR self service page. If they have not completed their evaluations, they will be able to view their grades one week later.

And as previously noted, Final Exams ended on Friday May 13, which means grades were posted on May 16.1

_________
1Note to Requiem: This is why I was thinking the timing was off when you reported this. I would have expected this news to come out last week even though patdog expected a delay.

Students can appeal their grade and teachers have a week to produce the academic work necessary to back the grade

There is also the possibilty that the students may have been granted an extra assignment in hopes of pulling up their grade ... that happens a lot at MSU

and being final are two different things. State students can see their grades just as soon as the prof decides they can.

As your post notes, students that didn't evaluate can't see their grades for a week. That tells me USM's semester isn't complete until then.

If that is the case, I can't believe they got it resolved in seven days

At MSU, the Student Displine Board would have to meet and the student can appeal being caught, etc etc .... that is usually a two-week process from start to finish, if everything goes quickly

Patrick Magee story:
Berry said that Thomas is “temporarily academically ineligible” while Thompson is done for the postseason.</p>
My interpretation: Thomas is taking an Incomplete in a course that he can pass with a C in the next few days so that he can pitch in the Regionals.
