Marquette coach Buzz Williams has got some stones

After a one-point win at West Virginia, he does a little dance in the middle of the court while the PA system is playing Country Road Take me Home, WVA's unofficial anthem. The student section went beserk. I think a couple of those country bumpkins would have attacked and tried to kill him if security hadn't been holding them back.

I was just about to post this. That crap was hilarious! I've always liked Buzz Williams, and that made me like him more.

I really don't think he meant any disrespect by it, but the looks on those WVU fans faces was hilarious. Couches are being burned as we type.

There's a 6 page thread on a wvu message board about the dancing. They are all complaining about how classless it was but then one of the posters said he wishes buzz had tripped and broke his neck, another wants huggins to punch him in the face at the big east tournament, another said he hopes buzz gets hit by a bus and someone else wishes he would die in a car accident tonight. How about a little perspective people?

Yes, WV is much more backward in general, from what I've seen from my several trips there. There are towns that you'd have to see to believe ... just absolutely incredible poverty, or perhaps they just don't care.<div>
</div><div>Alabama has nothing to compare. Eastern Kentucky is about the same as WV.

by descendants of Northern English, Scottish and Irish immigrants. There is a cool section in the book Outliers about these people and this area that focuses on their insanely elevated sense of 'honor" and their willingness to fight for it. Essentially the feuding you hear about from the past is a genetic trait and it's real. These people have a generational chip on their shoulders, are easily angered and hold a grudge forever. It's in their DNA. So essentially they are couch-burning, classless rednecks with a mean streak and no self-control. I can not tell you how happy I am they are not in the SEC.

we'd be pretty peeved too, especially if it was the opposing coach. While Williams didn't exactly "stomp" on the logo, it was still pretty unprofessional for a coach to do. From the expression on his face, it didn't appear that he was doing it to taunt, but the WV fans must have thought so (remember, their reasoning power isn't exactly ethereal, considering the in-breeding and all ... ).<div>
</div><div>I remember a few years ago several Auburn players literally stomped on our logo at mid-field (football) during pre-game warmups. It caused loud boos from the crowd and almost a fight on the field. Apparently it only served to fire us up because we beat them mercilessly. That was when the Dawgs held Auburn to no first downs in the first half, and Cadillac Williams only got about 25 yards the entire game.</div>

This board would go apeshit about his lack of class and how that is not how we want our school represented. This is one of those times where it is cool when someone else does it but I would not want our guy doing it.

but he wouldn't do that at all. I don't think he was being disrespectfull. He was walking to do the interview and the song caught him and he did a little gig. He didn'teven acknowledge the fans. I guess after a tough loss, I can see where it pissed off the West Virginia folks but he didn't mean any disrespect by doing it.
