Who does he remind you of? The way he sprints the perimeter without the ball reminds me of Reggie Miller but Miller took much better shots and well he's a top 20 all-time player so it's not a good comparison. I've never seen a player as cocky as Henderson.

Good question. I think there are many college players over the years that could have had the success he has had if they had the green light he enjoys. He takes some horrible shots, but he makes some of them no doubt because he knows he has the freedom of knowing he isn't coming out if he misses. He isn't a great shooter or a great athlete. I think there are a good many guys that could have been great scorers had they enjoyed the freedom he has.

Gerry McNamara from Syracuse is the perfect comparison...

I think McNamara is the better player but they are close.

The trash talk and constant running are pure Reggie

His shooting percentage however is not, but he can get off a shot almost anywhere.

You keep telling yourself that if it helps you justify having him on your team.

He reminds me of Jevon Snead because in a close game with the mighty Bulldogs he 17ed up late and sealed the win for us.

I really want to like the kid. I just cant. He might be a 6th or 7th option on a nba team one day. The league is still a place where a white 3 ball guy can com in and give 10-12 minutes. Definate liability on d. He would be guarding 2.s that would eat his **** for breakfast. Im having a tough time making a comparison. Im still pissed about the game last night. No exuse for striking out with basesloaded....twice. I did enjoy watching Holder warm up, for that is a treat in itself. It was my first time seeing him up close. Sorry for highjacking. I think our baseball league is finally full.

Henderson is good, don't let the bad shots fool you. Bad shots can be easily cured. When he fakes the 3 and drives and shoots he becomes much more deadly. He is an excellent free throw shooter and he gets to the line more than anyone else in the SEC. Did you see the last minute of today's game? He dribbled for 30 seconds straight and the entire Vandy team was trying to foul him and they couldn't even touch him. It was extremely impressive. He is definitely an NBA player on offense. His weakness and undoing will be his size and defense. If the Kings are bound and determined to suck they should sign Henderson and pair him with Jimmer Fredette. It'd be entertaining if nothing else.

Don't think you'll have to worry about that. Henderson has about as much chance of making an NBA squad as D Henderson does of playing MLB ball one day

Watch the last minute of today's game and you'll think different. Can anyone find the video?

If you're referring to Vandy looking like the Washington Generals

This is what you're looking for. I thought it was funny, but I'm not saying it makes him NBA material.

Thanks, that's exactly the video I was looking for. Name me one 3 point specialist in the NBA who could do that. Ray Allen can't do what Henderson did in that video. That's why I think he is an NBA talent. Not only does he have NBA range but he is super evasive WITH the ball and he is an excellent free throw shooter that draws more fouls than anyone else. I'd draft him in the 2nd round.

Every guard in the NBA could do that. There are 9th graders across the country who know how to dribble. Ray Allen doesn't do that because Ray Allen doesn't have to do that. Henderson has a screw loose - that's what that video shows to me. The Vandy guys could have easily fouled him earlier if they wanted and Henderson could have easily passed it if he wanted. I take nothing from that video other than that's a crazy white dude that has a green light to do whatever he wants when the ball is in his hands.

If you think that shows that he is an NBA talent, well...I really don't even know how to respond. I don't watch much NBA action these days, but I feel pretty confident in saying that it hasn't regressed that much.

And if you don't think there was about 20 NBA scouts at the game you're fooling yourself. I bet they all noticed it. What happens when they see it? They look down and write a check mark. Is elusive with the ball? Check

I don't know anything about scouts at the game or check marks or whatever...but that video is just comedy - as OP4 pointed out. If you think that display shows that he has NBA talent, you're fooling yourself. He may play in the NBA, but it won't be because of what he did in that clip.

Every year some idiots get on here and talk about how so-and-so is going to the NBA. There might be 3-4 league players in the conference. Henderson is not one of them. He is a homeless man's Reddick. But really he isn't even in that stratosphere.

3-4 players? Wtf? Kentucky will have 4 players drafted this year alone. Noel, Poythreus, WCS and Goodwin. All 4 are 1st round picks. Pressey, Oriahke(sp?), Stokes, McRae, Caldwell-Pope, BJ Young, Patrick Young, JOB3, Turner. The SEC has plenty of NBA players.

Really? Allen made one dribble move 16 years ago and you

compare that to Henderson avoiding the entire team for 30 seconds? Haha that has to be a joke.

He won't be drafted. He's undersized, has poor shot selection, plays horrid defense, and has some serious baggage in his past. Just because dude can dribble a basketball doesnt make him draft material. A team might sign him as a free agent. Maybe at best.

Tough to explain but basically it's because I'm so tired of everyone outside of MS confusing MSU with UOM.

That wouldn't be a shocker. MSU gets credit for Henderson. Haha.

So might as well have him succeed since the average idiot can't distinguish between the Mississippi schools?

i have an OM friend who swears that they would still like him if he were at State. Like anyone would believe that garbage. The entire league outside of OM loathes the guy.

Not suprised at all that the writers love the guy. He is colorful.
Climer is a local writer for The Tennessean. It makes his job much easier covering this Tournament.

I was more referring to the SEC fans. I doubt outside the SEC anyone knows much about him. Ole Miss makes any noise in the dance and they will though. Guy can't help himself.
