It's funny, Nick was missing a few shots and Mrs P was like "what is wrong with him?" And I pointed to the scoreboard where he had 28 points.

Howard's top guy had four points, foul trouble but also good D.

Yes, the defense took him out of the game. Hopefully they will do the same to Minnesota's big gun, Tyson, on Saturday.

It’s a development year. This is not a tournament team. The most important thing is guys like Gelo, West, Singleton get better and enter next season as viable B1G starters.
Still have a decent path to the tournament. They need to figure out Reid. 35 mins for Singleton in the last game will help his development. We'll see what happens in the next few games.

It will require another 4 (or more) game BIG win streak somewhere along the way to get there. That would even out the dud of the noncon and get us back on the radar. Collins has done this before so we'll see.

It helps guys getting better to be in competitive games and win a few. This is a te with enough talent to win 7 easily.

Gotta go 11-9 (11-7 the rest of the way) with the mediocre noncon record. Cats are 0-5 against Quad 1 and 2, so they need a few trophy wins. Fortunately, playing in the B1G provides opportunities nearly every game.

This team is young and very much a work-in-progress. It all revolves around Nick. We have some good supporting pieces, I hope Page learned a lesson and will be a monster the rest of the way. Reid is dynamic but inconsistent, while the youngsters are going to have big ups and downs. I just want to see steady improvement. Our biggest and most glaring weakness is our lack of depth at center. If we only had a backup like a Fitzmorris, a Preston, or a Verhoeven like we did in the past, this team would have a much better chance at getting to The Dance.

I think I biggest weakest is our team rebounding. Then our inconsistency from long range. I can’t think of many L’s that I would attribute to the lack of a Fitzmorris type back up center.

Our problem is our defense. A backup center who plays a few minutes is not the reason we are underperforming.

That's being very optimistic that Page will stay out of foul trouble or won't need a breather in the grind of B1G competition against teams loaded with height. At this point our backup center is 6-9 freshman Kropp and 6-7 Martinelli. That is a huge weakness.

I don’t think 7 gets us in.
Neither does 9 and I thought, coming into the season, that would be a very positive record. More than that, not sure it’s realistic. Possible, but not likely at all.

My point is that we should win some games and MN is amongst the most winnable. Don’t see it as a must win as I don’t see any as must wins. But it’s one to be disappointed if we lose.

Ain’t gonna happen. Just going to go game by game and look for improvements from the young guys.

I don't expect it to happen either but they could have made some tweaks during this long break. I do expect Tre and Jake's development to continue. I'd start Jake West now.

Go Cats!
