The first couple of snowfalls every year bring out the AWD guys that thinks they’re invincible but eventually they settle down.
I lived in the DC area for 49 years. If that forecast comes true EVERYTHING will be shut down. Team and officials may get there on Saturday for a Sunday dual but leaving the area is NOT going to happen. In fact getting to the arena (since neither the team or officials will be staying at the arena) will be a major problem. DC area does not handle any snow greater than 2 inches very well. 8-12 inches two days in a row closes everything.

The tires makes so much more difference than your drive wheels(where and how many). Regardless, like half the cars around here are AWD and maybe 15% have proper winter tires. Almost every winter accident here (Utah) will inevitably be a Subaru with all-seasons. Just bought new Blizzaks on steelies for my FWD Ford Maverick in November, and of course we've barely even got cold and essentially zero snow since.The first couple of snowfalls every year bring out the AWD guys that thinks they’re invincible but eventually they settle down.

I would think under normal circumstances if the team is in vicinity that it will be wrestled. However if State or City traffic emergency is declared that would change things .
Yes, I’m familiar with that area. Wonderful people there. Was also part of my sales territory in 1990-1993 and I don’t know if i ever saw the sun while I was in Syracuse in the winter... We lived in Conesus Lake area for three years prior to moving to ‘Cleveland’.
You’ve got the right tires. A friend of mine has owned probably 150 cars in his lifetime and years ago, for snow he said, ‘Bridgestone Blizzaks’. We recently sold our Subaru Outback (wanted the 2026 model but it kept getting delayed) so in the meantime we bought another brand and the spare set of Blizzak snows don’t fit, so I’ll have to find another home for them. The Blizzaks you’ve got on hand can be used as ‘insurance' I suppose. We’ve got to get out that way…
Chardon is the snow capital of Ohio. Beautiful little town. Geauga county is great. I lived in the “low rent” portion of the county for a while. Hopefully the Buckete state has treated you well.
I once cut thru NW DC to Crystal City with under 1 inch of snow on the ground, and the streets were completely empty. Not even taxis or delivery cars or police. And that was around 7 pm on a Friday.
Small world. Yep, we live about 10 minutes south of Chardon in an Amish community (we’re not Amish, I can’t ‘raise a beard’ and we use electricity) and we get amount the same amount of snow as they do. We love it here - except for the first four/ five months of winter. Summers are beautiful.
If it’s the 4th largest Amish community in the US (Middlefield) that’s where I used to live. Nice place. If not, all the other little places around there aren’t bad either.
You are correct about Maryland, with the exception of Garrett County, Maryland's farthest west county. I lived there from 2010 - 2012 and it snows there....and a lot!
