Masoli is Ole Miss' Lawrence Roberts.

I'm not comparing character issues because guess what gents, we have some players that are thugs too.

Think about it. In 2004, we had a pretty decent team but were lacking a big man. Lawrence Roberts falls in our lap and we win the SEC championship.

Ole Miss has a pretty decent team this year, but they were lacking a QB. They get one that can turn a 6-7 win team in to a 10-11 win team in my opinion. They will start out 5-0 and success breeds more success. I hate them as much as anyone, but with Masoli, they can win 10 games. Hell, they have seven games that they can't lose. I think they can go 3-2 against Alabama, LSU, Arkansas, Auburn and us.

I will go on record and say this. Alabama is the clear and solid favorite, but if for some reason they slip up, the SEC West will be decided in Fayetteville, Arkansas on October 23.

no receivers, a patchwork offensive line, no marquee running back, a very green secondary.

He certainly makes them better, but division title if Bama slips up? I don't think so.

I don't think Masoli and the defensive front seven is enough to overcome Auburn, Ark and Bama.

Masoli is a stud, but Atlanta? Come on, man.

Mississippi's offense (sans Masoli) does not compare favorably with Oregon's from last year. I don't see a LaMichael James on their roster. Ditto for LaGarrette Blount. Not to mention he had spent years learning that offense. Masoli is a gamebreaker, but I think he just makes Ole Miss a solid 7 win team (i.e, could win 8) instead of a solid 6 win team.

As others have pointed out, they still have a lot of big holes on their team. This makes them better, no doubt. But nowhere near 10 wins.

I thought they could win 8 or 9 anyway. Getting a player like Masoli doesn't add 1 or 2 wins?

Jax State - win
Tulane - win
Vandy - win
Fresno State - win
Kentucky - win
Alabama - loss
Arkansas - loss
Auburn - tossup but leaning win*
ULL - win
Tennessee - win
LSU - tossup for historically Ole Miss has their number*
MSU - win*

* - In my opinion, Auburn and LSU went from tossup leaning loss to tossup leaning win, MSU went from complete tossup to win.

The only thing that even stands out about the above prediction is Auburn. Hell give Auburn a win in Oxford and they are 9-3. The thing about it, they could go 10-2 and finish third in the West this year. An average Tennessee with a new coach team is the most losable of the games that I have as wins. Think about that.

It's still delusional though. There's no way in hell they were going to win 8-9 games without Masoli.

Nutt had some teams at Arkansas that looked like **** on paper in July but come December they were either in Atlanta or heading to a NYD bowl.
