George Floyd vs. Ahmaud Arbery, for example. One is more sensationalized because it involves a police officer, despite the other one being a more violent death.

"Mostly peaceful" with fires blazing in the background.

Mohammad Anwar's death being called an "accident" by CNN.

The Atlanta shooting has been labeled a hate crime and has been used to inflame tensions among Asians, despite the shooter blaming "sex addiction" and shooting a couple of white people and a Hispanic man in addition.

Countless race on same race crimes that occur every single day.

Do I need to continue?

Gotcha, thought this thread was about mass shootings though, and the Atlanta is the only one on the list (but you are certainly not the first to make that point about "hate crime" against Asians)

And I don't want to start an argument, but the thousands of gun deaths annually has been covered by all kinds of media for many many years, and for example, the large number of deadly incidents in Chicago, New Orleans, Baltimore, and similar places has become just run of the mill, not unusual or sensational at all anymore. Which is really sad.

None of this matter. Until America addresses the issue of black on black murder and black gang killings ever weekend we can keep whistling Dixie.

The government allows this for a reason. It fits their agenda and blacks in Chicago are available to sacrifice. Taking guns from some poor soul in Arizona is not going to stop murders in Chicago or Los Angeles or Detroit.

This one just doesnt add up. Too many questions without logical answers and no motive was ever discovered/ revealed.
He was a leftist who thought all country music fans were Trump supporters.

Yes, but as usual, threads take different directions. I did expand my criteria to media coverage of "violent events".

If you want to have a narrow view to include just shootings, then this tweet makes my point. How many of these shooters do you know about? Do you not know about them because the media coverage wasn't as extensive? Why wasn't it? Is it because some shootings are more sensationalized by the media than others based on the victim?

Yep I knew that mass shootings perps pretty much reflect the population as a whole, (except that they are almost always male)

I've always heard that women like to make things difficult. Maybe a gunshot would be too easy for them?

They tend to shoot only their husband or boyfriend, and that must get it out of their system

Breonna Taylor was killed a few months before George Floyd, and it was mostly a local story until then. Why did it take a sensationalized killing of a man in another state for it to garner national attention? Weird.

Anyone being intellectually honest can see all of this. That's why it's so infuriating and why we won't "chill." We all see the problem, we all know what it is, some just want to bury it in the sand and stick their heads in there with it, the rest of us call this crap out for what it is.

Dont necessarily disagree. Solutions you would offer if gun control laws are off the table?
Same as always: Better education for poor young men. Get that with better schools - discipline/required work. Get that with parental choice instead of union-dominated, teachers-first schools. Not that hard. Libs won't hear of it though. They prefer that mayhem narrative & blaming whitey.

Just a guess, is the “poor soul in Arizona” in your scenario a white guy?

Sawnee over here acting like right wing George Costanza. Instead of yelling “I was in the pool!”, he’s yelling “it was the blacks!”

Shew.

Exactly.

Contrast these 2 scenarios:
#1 - Child A grows up in a 2 parent household. Each parent teaches the child right/wrong....how to treat and respect others.....how to be a man the right way......he is taught consequences and learns how to control emotions and responses to situations. He goes to a school where these qualities are reinforced......he is taught right/wrong.....he is taught how to interact with others....he is taught consequences of actions and learns to act properly in a public setting. He then goes into the community.....whether it be with church, the Boy Scouts, the rec soccer/sports league, sportsman's clubs, etc, etc. Here he is reinforced right/wrong as he learns what it means to have a sense of purpose and belonging to a group.

#2 - Child B grows up in a single parent household. Parent doesn't parent. Doesn't teach right/wrong. Doesn't punish mistakes. In fact, when he gets in trouble at school the parent doesn't back the school punishment system....if the school even can punish anymore. The kid gets labeled a trouble maker......kids at school alienates him as he alienates himself because he doesn't know how to act. At some point parent is fed up......takes him to a psychiatrist who labels him ADD/ADHD and puts him on meds. The school has given up.....the parent has given up.......if there is any "community/group" that he finds it's likely to be negative.

Each child is now 18 yrs old. You give each child a pair of scissors. Who is more likely to abuse such a useful tool......or use it in a violent way? The answer isn't to take away all scissors. The answer must be to help Child B.....and to find a way to help more children become more like A.

Expect a lot of them when the left starts sending in their goons to take your AR
I was going to let this one go, but it's too much fun to pass up. How many years have you been using this line? If the forever evil, 'Merica-hatin' Obummer didn't take your guns, Biden's old *** won't either. But you'll still be using this tired line a decade from now. It's as if you've been programmed by your preferred choice of media to believe and spout this line over and over and over for the past several years.

It’s not just taking them that’s the problem and I agree, as a previous gun owner I wouldn’t allow anyone inside my home to even have a peek at my guns. Which I don’t own anymore

The Capitol was attacked again today. Even if you could prevent mass shootings, then they will just turn into bombings, car rammings, knife attacks, etc. People who want to kill will always find a way.

This story will disappear from the mainstream quicker than this guy's social media pages.

Gun control is really simple. If you do not like guns, don't buy one.

Until America shows they are serious about stopping murder in places like Chicago forget even thinking about passing gun control laws. Chicago has them, how is that working out.

But the government has no intention in saving the lives of innocent people who are terrorized by black gangs in major cities. So that leaves the rest of us one choice. Stay armed and know how to use it. You just never know when the day will come.
It’s easy to get guns when all you got to do is leave the city.

I don’t recall even one shooting making the news during the Trump administration, but there have been several since Biden took office. The media trying to help back gun control?
I demand the OP come back into this thread and admit his ignorance.
That's the problem with internet. Dummies spout dumbness and fail to learn their lesson.

This is an asinine argument when the president is currently lobbying for gun bans.

Nothing happened after an elementary school got shot up and 8 and 9 year old's were sprayed with bullets in their classrooms on a Dec. morning. Many have screamed about having their guns taken away for an entire generation and yet, they still have their guns. ThroughBlue stated that if he still owned guns, he wouldn’t allow anyone inside his home to even have a peek at them. Here's the thing, the government doesn't care about his fictional gun collection. Just because one of you scours social media and finds a check mark on twitter who thinks every gun should be taken away, doesn't mean it's going to happen. My dad owns guns. He ain't walking around bragging about them or saying "govment better not knock on MY door for MY guns, I'll tell ya that much because you best believe I'll be ready for 'em!" That's really my point. No one is coming to your home to handcuff you to a bedpost and search every room for your guns. Ya'll are safe.

I don't think there's a solution to any of this btw. Just saying the words "gun control" and "do something!" over and over doesn't work and politicians constantly posting "Thoughts and Prayers" on twitter and then saying "no no no, we must not talk about any of this because it's too soon!" in public doesn't work either, but it's what both sides do.

You'd love it if people just STFU and didn't worry about anything on the lib agenda. Not going to happen.

Libs say they want to ban guns. Some call out specific types of guns and accessories as a start. They've done it to a degree in libnut states like California making a list of items illegal. E.G. The courts overturned the CA ban on "high capacity" magazines, yet the Ninth Circuit has is under appeal. Residents still live under fear of a felony charge for having a non-lib authorized magazine and retailers will only sell them neutered mags until after the appeal is settled.

Another E.G.: The ATF approved certain pistol braces in the past, but since the dementia patient took office, they've started moving to make those a felony as well. This **** happens and good people lose their life saving and freedom over it.

Keeping our second amendment freedoms from you big gov daddy state loving libidiots is a constant struggle, not to mention our first amendment freedoms, and everything else the Constitution provides. Therefore, the lobbyists have to continue padding the pockets of the scumbags in DC so we can have the freedoms that were meant as a GD birthright!

Calm down Francis 😂

Biden is the first president since Clinton to say he actually wants to ban firearms. Clinton actually banned classes of firearms while he was president too, since you obviously have no clue about that.

Okay. FWIW I'm pretty liberal and I want you to have your guns.

Also, I make it a point to not really have a conversation with people who can't actually have an adult conversation. You ranting about LIBS and saying libnut or libidiots shows me it's not worth my time. Save that goofiness for twitter or fb. If you want to call it ducking out, fine. I'm just not wasting a beautiful Saturday arguing about guns with someone more obsessed with a liberal agenda in CA than liberals who actually live in CA.

Sorry! I write paragraphs, I know lol.

I knew about Clinton as well, and it didn't work. Your guns will still be safe regardless. I'll tell you what I just told Ida. I want you to have your guns. I just get tired of the same "libs gonna take my guns so watch out!" argument. Ya'll quit living in fear.

As long as politicians are saying they want to ban guns, I'll push back.

We have a president and several members of congress saying that currently.
