Perhaps we are in agreement - my point was just because there is a 2nd doesn't mean we cant adapt to our times - and of course thru the right systems - I mentioned the court rulings thru the years because honestly they have backed the 2nd fully and expanded not contracted on its meaning.

I didn't realize Alex Jones frequented the Paddock.

The fact he was scouting different music venues kinda disproves the idea he was specifically targeting country music fans. He probably didn't go to these other because he decided logistics were tougher and he might not get a chance to pull it off. He went for the easiest target imo.

So the guy thought his shooting spree would finally be the one to get the guns taken away? I guess if he was delusional but there's ZERO evidence this was his motivation. There is zero chance that guns are ever taken away from Americans. There is more of a chance that first amendment rights are taken away before 2nd amendment rights. I mean not even killing a bunch of kids would move the country to give up their precious guns.

It's no surprise that mass shootings increased exponentially with the expiration of the ban on assault rifles and large magazine clips. Yet during those 10 years no one had their other guns taken away or all the other apocalyptic predictions by the gun nuts.

I just don't believe the 2nd amendment was ever supposed to be an absolute right with no restrictions. The founding fathers did not have machine guns and assault rifles to inform their decisions.
I think you have to look at the 2nd amendment from the perspective of our founding fathers. I have heard people in the media talking about what is required for hunting, and what people need, in terms of how they use firearms, as the measure of what should be legal. That view does not take into account the primary purpose of the 2nd amendment. Our founding fathers were very distrustful of government. They believed that the concentrated power of a centralized government was a very dangerous thing and that it had to be contained. They believed that history teaches us that there is a likelihood that the power of government would some day be used by a person, or group of persons, to suppress the citizenry. The second amendment is a check against that happening. An armed population is much harder to suppress than an unarmed one. The question about what weaponry should be legal must be asked in the context of the founding father's fear of the misuse of power concentrated in the government. I don't know where the line should be, but the weapons allowed must be sufficient to create a deterrent to any person, or persons, to attempt to use the power of the government against the people.

That’s a better answer than the average response to that question.

I believe in the 2nd amendment, just don't like automatic weapons being for sale to general public. I fully realize criminals will probably find a way to get them anyway (or find another way to mass kill), but just in principle.

Rest easy then because the general public actually cannot buy automatic weapons.

I haven't done a study on it, but it seems to depend on who you ask. I don't care for the bump stocks being for sale either.

You'd think one could look to the PATRIOT Act, the NDAA, the domestic surveillance programs any one of our three letter agencies is undertaking, the fact that the previous sitting Presidential Administration was running surveillance on the opposition party's candidate under the guise of a warrant issued from a secret court, etc...

and they'd come to the conclusion that maybe sacrificing our inherent rights as a knee jerk reaction to the actions of radicals is an incredibly poor decision.

This press conference is weird. They're bad liars, imo.

Anyway, they know literally nothing and they're putting up billboards in Vegas asking people to call FBI if they know anything.

Lol this clown is up there now briefing on the media on the proper name for this shooting...it's the "October 1 event". Gtfo. What in the world...

Asked about video cameras..."we are not aware of any videos".

That first responder security guard guy...this was like the 4th or 5th story I've heard about him. Official word is he was alerted to an open door alarm on the 32nd floor and that's when he stumbled upon gunshots.

They're lying about this security guard. Media asked the sheriff 4 straight questions about that incident and he couldn't answer any of em. Stumbled, said wrong things, corrected himself, and got real red....

This was after they spent minutes praising this guy for his heroic efforts and balabapbpa. Yet they can't even remember what happened to him? Gtfo. He was shot before the gunman opened up on the crowd, or maybe after...we don't know. Gtfo.

And it's not true nobody knew this guy. HE FN FLEW TO TOKYO FOR SUSHI COMPED BY THE CASINO. Gtfo. He had a few homes, travelled a lot, 2 personal planes, etc etc.

He worked for Hillary Clinton. Only thing that makes sense right now. They're just buying time till they release his laptop info next week showing he was actually a Russian spy.

semantics and you know it. Paddock and many other mass killers basically had automatic weapons. Expiration of Assault Weapons ban resulted in immediate increases in mass murders.

The ban was in place for 10 years.

We didn’t have the issue we’re having now prior to it, so instead of placing the blame on the tool used maybe we need to take a look at society.

I can accept this may be a lone wolf crazy guy tempted with mass murdering people.

But come on man another ISIS attack in NY was just busted and one of the people was attached to Phillipines? Saying nothing is coming from Paddock is fine publicly to stay tight lipped, however this is the same play we saw in France where it was attack after attack for a few months.

They know the motive by now. Its been almost 5 full days. Everything Paddock has done in his entire life has been scanned over probably 10 times by now.

I think the fact that they don't feel comfortable (yet) releasing it is a bit troubling. There must be some reason for that. Maybe they do believe others were involved, and are worried releasing too much would hurt those investigations?

There is clearly a lot more to this than what meets the eye.

They don't want to tell us that his only motivation was to bring about a change in gun laws. Then the anti-gun rhetoric and those espousing it will have to face the consequences of their actions. We all know that the last thing the left wants to do is face consequences for their actions. That's what other people are supposed to do.

I'd hardly call stopping off at a tourist trap port of call on a cruise (especially in Dubai and Jordan) "traveling to the Middle East."

Had he spent days or weeks in Pakistan or Afghanistan or Saudi Arabia, I could buy that as having a connection.

This dickhead just had more money than he knew what to do with and it seems like traveling was one way to burn through some of it.

Pretty sure it is the Philippines they are looking at.

Can someone give me a non partisan rundown of the shooter? IDGAF about guns vs no guns libs vs repubs etc etc. Have had some serious family issues and just want to get caught up on if they've found anything new about the guy lately. Thanks in advance.

Links to terrorist organization?

Just a psycho?

Any documents or anything left that would identify a motive?

Also, his father was a most wanted bank robber who was diagnosed as psychopathic and his brother is coked out of his mind and won't shut his mouth.

And krazykats thinks he's a member of ISIS, so he's almost certainly not.

The New York thwarted Isis attack is similar. Could be one heck of a coincidence. They had same plan. Kind of odd.

Link?

FWIW, I am scared that this jackwagon taught a lot of evil idiots how to up their game. If I am ISIS, I'm looking at this like I just got a copy of Bill Belichik's playbook. That could be one reason why Johnny Law is so tight-lipped.
