It was the stand that got me. But, I was definitely a little woozy when I hit the ground.Maybe the altitude got to @pawrstlersinpa, too!
Would that be Kelly? There was an interesting Situation when Cyler was still in high school where the family left Heber City for a time and he went to Timpanogos High School, I thought the cousins were involved there. It’s been a while, little fuzzy. Ahhhh the good ole daysWe live closer to where you (and Sanderson) grew up. A cousin of Cael's was my kids' first (and only) wrestling coach. COVID shut down the program for the season and the only thing around still open was an MMA gym. We've all been doing BJJ since.
Fan boy question, but does Wasatch HS have any Sanderson memorabilia in their gym? I have to imagine they might have a trophy case or 2 dedicated to them.Would that be Kelly? Often I took the tram to the top of the mountain and walked over to the restaurant for dinner and sat in the window seat on the edge of the cliff looking down into the valley. But even more spectacular is to drive to the back side of the mountain and drive to the top today parking lot that looks directly down into Albuquerque. I would go there in the dark on the morning of the balloon festival and watch hundreds of balloons fire up and float up to the sky to our elevation. Just spectacular!Yes, but the Tramway to Sandia provides one of the most magnificent views in the country! It is a weird feeling to experience the oxygen deprivation though and the exertion of utilizing crutches can be difficult even at sea level
The name escapes me as my (then) 7 and 4 year olds were only in the program for a few months before it all shut down, but it wasn't Kelly and not through Timpanogos (but same general area).Would that be Kelly? last time I was in SLC I was thinking of heading over to Heber city and seeing Sanderson-related stuff
I haven't tried since last season, but you could pause Byers a bit to sync up with Flo video. That way you don't have to listen to their broadcast.I'll be watching on Byers+ ... tune into the radio and close your eyes. Much smoother than trying to watch it on Flo/Blo
We had a bronze statue in the old gym, 9 feet or so I think? They built a new high school in 2009 and I’ve never been in the new one. I’m not sure what commemorations exist. It’s changed so much there since the ‘02 Olympics, feels more like Park City all the time.Fan boy question, but does Wasatch HS have any Sanderson memorabilia in their gym? It’s like being on a different planetAnywhere in Utah south of I-70 is paradise.

Someone is surely a better expert than I and could confirm, but I have heard you either have to arrive a week or two early to acclimatize or arrive no more than 24 hours early to minimize the impact of an altitude shift. One of those strategies works better for student athletes than the other. So much for altitude acclimation. Maybe this is a week to work on pinfalls.
Yeah - that road is very unique. I live in a small farming community with just 50 families a farming valley in the western part of Virginia. US 50 in Nevada (Loneliest road in America) makes our valley look like a metropolis. What I remember most is seeing a truck about 4-5 miles ahead. We would take a 20 minutes to catch up and another 20 to pull away. Speed limit was 80 for long stretches.I took that road and probably met that herd. I stopped as I figured they had the right of way. One of the cows slobbered all over my hood. Two cowpokes were riding drag. Between the Sierras and Rockies is beautiful country.
My favorite road in America is US 50 through Utah and Nevada. "The loneliest road in America." I was driving it a few years back and was getting the nods. I pulled over and took a nap. I was awakened by a rap on the window. A state trooper was checking to see if I was OK. He noted my Penn State PA license plate and asked if I was a wrestling fan. When he was in high school, the trooper had been to a few wrestling clinics put on by Cael's dad. We spent fifteen minutes talking wrestling.

While I have never been there, it was once described to me as the colors of fall with the temperatures of summer & winter.Yeah, not a ton of green out there, but lots of red....
We've driven US 50 from Utah to Bay Area to visit wife's family more times than I can count. Words can not describe how awful that drive is until you pass Reno.Yeah - that road is very unique. Consider taking 287 from Fort Collins to Laramie instead of taking I-25 up to Cheyenne. Closer to mountains, less boring interstate driving.Just to the summit of Pikes Peak, amazing views, 14,000 feet above sea kevel
Dual is tomorrow—and if he did, his redshirt would be burned. I’m hoping maybe the Scuffle as unattached though!Do we see Ono tonight at 141?
Bo spent part of his youth in Wyoming.Much love for Wyoming, though mostly its mountainous northwest. I’ve seen 7 of my 17 grizzlies there (Yellowstone and Grand Teton NPs), all of my wolves (Yellowstone), and took my longest day hike ever with my son (fabulous Paintbrush-Cascade Canyon, 22-mile loop in the Tetons).
Beyond the dual win and terrific tests for the Mirasolas, Cael needs to gather intel on recruiting some Wyoming HS phenom and making him the first NCAA champ from America’s least populace state.![]()

@Efejle I'm not sure if there is any deep meaning to your reverse homage to El_Jefe, but if you ever need to fade into poster obscurity, Yug1mlasp might be a good backup username for you.Do we see Ono tonight at 141?
There's a genetic apsect to it as well. Altitude affects some more than others. And dehydration is a concern as well (long flight doesn't help). I do bike trips in the Italian Alps. I tangle with the "easier" climbs early in the first week. My feeling usually improves late in the first week. Riding with a power meter, I expect 15ish less Watts at high altitude. I'm not racing anybody (but myself), so I try not to go into the red. Once the heart rate gets high up there, it's difficult to get it back down.Someone is surely a better expert than I and could confirm, but I have heard you either have to arrive a week or two early to acclimatize or arrive no more than 24 hours early to minimize the impact of an altitude shift. Saw Cael, Cody and Ono at one of only 3 State College High home duals last night FWIW. That may have also played into the consideration. Teag looked great btw.
I have a coworker who sells and sets them up. I have the 3plus, now they are selling the 6. He says the only real difference is the 6 gives you picture-in-picture as an option.I've been looking into this. Which model do you have?
Seems to me the most likely matches where altitude might be a factor is those where a decision in the 3rd period is most likely. I'll say it now, PSUs conditioning is always second to none, but 197 and Heavy is where altitude could play a role with December lungs. There's a genetic apsect to it as well. Certainly not enough time for our guys to acclimate. But it certainly helps to be 20 and a supremly gifted athlete. With that said, if there are any tossup matches, I'd give the edge to the local.
I personally wouldn't mind seeing a few more tight matches and/or teams sending out their best against our guys.Seems to me the most likely matches where altitude might be a factor is those where a decision in the 3rd period is most likely. This is stealing and some AI FBI agent is in pursuit.I have subscribed to BTN+ and Flo for many years to see as much wrestling as possible. Just bit the bullet and purchased a VSEE box a couple weeks ago, one time purchase, no subscription.......I watch any football game, hockey game, professional sport I want. Incudes Flo, BTN, BTN+, ACC, ESPN, ESPN+ (etc), Local and national network stations, and I haven't found a movie yet that isn't on it. Depending on where you buy it and what version you can expect to pay $275-360. So far we love it in our house.
