If I'm banned for that you guys have become soft as Charmin. Others can have fun but not me got it. Go eat a 3rd lunch
I don't make the rules or enforce them. Have never reported a post. Don't take it personal. It wouldn't be. And no need to paint with the broad brush of "you guys." Most of us guys could (or couldn't) give a rat's @$$ (depending on how we prefer to say it).

Exactly. Nothing is a guarantee and folkstyle is a grind it's nothing like freestyle. Time will tell. I'm actually sticking up for Desmond and getting pushback this is actually hilarious. Guys Desmond wrestles for Penn st
So will Ono. And I like his chances to win an NCAA title (or two?) more than I like Desmond’s chances. But I will be rooting for Desmond to get in the lineup at some point and have his chance.

I’m looking forward to tonight. Bormet usually has his guys ready for us. Hopefully the mission will be to try and win matches, not limit damage. 141, 149, 184 & Hvy could all be pretty good if everyone tries to win.

Over-under on random camera shots of an Amine in the audience? 2.5?

157 Catrabone is fun to watch he's also a NY kid from the Buffalo

Also looking forward to the match as I will be there. Someone in Michigan’s AD wasn’t thinking when they made this “Takedown Sign Giveaway” night, where all fans get a free takedown sign upon entry. I wonder what fans will do with the signs.

that very well could be the case but the way that Mitch is running through the field at 65 and knowing his mentality.. he may want to move up to 74 next year
I doubt it. Next year will be leading into an Olympic cycle in 2028, and I think he'll want to stay around 74kg/165lbs to prepare for the Olympics. He's not a big 165 at all right now.

Since we were claiming Dave Carr we get to claim Catrabone too. His dad, Jeff, was a PA state champ wrestling for Erie Prep (I don't think it was Cathedral Prep yet) and won an NCAA title for Michigan. Good Lord there have been a bunch of really good kids win NCAA titles for schools not named Penn State.

I think it's more likely Duke just redshirts next year and Kasak comes back at 157 while Duke concentrates on freestyle for a year. We'll see, I guess, though. I don't have any inside information, that's just a guess.
So Duke won't take an ORS in 2028? Or you think he takes 2 in a row?

Agree . I can see Duke pulling a Levi and going from 157 to 174
Wouldn't surprise me either. 157 is a weight PJ is never going to see again, and if he had wrestled 165 this year he would be cutting weight.
Messenbrink isn't going to 174 next year. There will a be a ton of conjecture on here about it, but he will be wrestling and dominating 165 again next year.

I think it would depend on whether he wants to be there for 6 years and how much he values the ORS in his Olympic training. Wrestling 165 for PSU in 2028 would mean that he would be at the weight he's aiming for in the OTTs and being at PSU, he wouldn't have to relocate to a RTC to train in freestyle since NLWC is right there, so the ORS wouldn't be as critical as it might be for other guys, especially those who don't have a world class RTC at the school where they are.

Rags is crafty and will make Davis pay if/when he makes a mistake. Given their history, I would not be expecting PJ to major. Kids good so it should be fun.

OTOH, if SVN can keep from giving up first points, he could major.

it is bc he is not a big 65er... he is not worried about going up and down but wrestling bigger and stronger opponents will help to prepare him more... we will see

Ragusin's pin of Davis was freak thing. That was a defensive pin. I don't expect that to happen ever again. Ragusin isn't quite the level he was then, either.

I could definitely see Duke RS unless he wins the NCAAs this year...

Rags is good but I also feel like he has regressed.... Davis is getting better and better at 41 and once he is in shape... I think he will make some noise at that weight class.

Agreed on SVN...

I think PJ is growing by leaps and bounds and while these two have been close in the past.... I think we are going to get to see that growth and separation...on full display!

So PJ takes consecutive redshirts, what's the problem? We have Kasak and Sealy at 57 and 65 then James, Henckel, and Rocco at 74 and 84. One of them can take an Oly redshirt as well.

And the beat goes on.

A couple of years ago, Rags looked like he was going to become something. That promise just never materialized. He’s had a decent career, just not what he or the MeatChicken Chef wanted. He’s a round of 12 kinda guys so Babyface needs to wrestle smart tonight. Davis 4. Rags 2
