Eh, as always, the match notes probables aren't an end-all, be-all. Kasak was listed last week too and didn't wrestle. Davis was listed for the Michigan match and was obviously out. So, wouldn't read anything into them.Interesting Probables @ 33 and 57!
That's not how they've ever operated. Illness obviously could be a factor. But I don't expect to see anyone in the lineup who usually isn't simply because they are a senior. My guess is Kasak is a no go. I believe this is senior night so I expect to see a couple of seniors get a go as well that haven’t seen the mat. The dual won’t be close regardless.
I think he'll be the 2 at B1Gs. He has a loss to Ethan Miller who is undefeated. Although the loss was because of injury it still counts.I think Kasak is a no go cause it gives him another week and he doesn't need the match to be the 1 seed at B1Gs or NCAAs
Not going to be #1 seed at big tens regardless.I think Kasak is a no go cause it gives him another week and he doesn't need the match to be the 1 seed at B1Gs or NCAAs

You are. There may have been times a senior backup filled in for an injured or sick starter on Senior Day, but it wasn't by design in the sense of "we're going to wrestle you only because it's Senior Day."If my memory serves they've typically given some seniors a shot on senior day. Unless I am remembering incorrectly, which is a possibility.

There are even very few instances of that, for what it's worth. And as for the guy getting a go, I clicked back through the last decade, and the only one I can find its Luke Frey for Dylan Alton in 2015 at 157. Frey was actually a junior but was graduating and moving on after the season. I'm sure there are other examples but, the long and short of it is, I don't expect any lineup changes Friday simply based on expiring eligibility.I must've conflated a senior getting a go with them being a senior then.![]()
Crap, yeah. Mind fart. Teemer in semis is probably tougher than taylor, but I think he'll get his redemption against Miller regardlessI think he'll be the 2 at B1Gs. He has a loss to Ethan Miller who is undefeated. Although the loss was because of injury it still counts.
Teemer may not get 3rd seed. Taylor from Nebraska has only 1 conference loss and more wins than Teemer.Crap, yeah. Mind fart. Teemer in semis is probably tougher than taylor, but I think he'll get his redemption against Miller regardless
I clearly need to catch up.Teemer may not get 3rd seed. Taylor from Nebraska has only 1 conference loss and more wins than Teemer.
Yes, but Taylor has to wrestle Blaze from Purdue on Sunday night. Goes without saying but will have major seeding implications at 157. Teemer missing time will play a role, too. Will be very interesting to see how it all plays out.Teemer may not get 3rd seed. Taylor from Nebraska has only 1 conference loss and more wins than Teemer.

Perhaps, but just from what I’ve been able to go back and look at, it’s always been the guy they think has the best chance to win regardless of class.I do think that the coaches have considered remaining eligibility when selecting which backup to fill in for a starter. Giving a Sr backup the nod over an underclassman that could have a few more chances to fill in.
At CLE State vs Kent State tonight. Filling up nicely, last home match, maybe ever, for CSU.

Like to see lilledahl get 3rd seed. Ramos is a buzz saw this year.Matscout/Rofkin predicts the seeds for Big Tens. - https://rokfin.com/ranking/4806/Projected-Big-Ten-Seed-Sheets
- they place more weight on in-conference record
125 - Luke #4
133 - Davis #6 - only 2-2 in Bigs
141 - Beau #1
149 - VanNess #1
157 - Kasak #2
165 - Mitch #1
174 - Levi #1
184 - Carter #1
197 - Barr #2
285 - Kerk #2
7-8 finalists (Barr needs to beat Cardenas again in semi's), Luke gets Ramos in semi's, Davis would get Braxton Brown - Maryland - in quarters and Lucas Byrd in semi's. I could see Davis getting the 4 or 5 seed though as he is ranked much higher nationally than the 4/5 in Big predictions
They have a ring announcer for each match, let's get ready to rumble type atmosphere. Gym seemed full, capacity is 3000. Some guys behind me were talking about RTC funding, athletic department budgets etc. Not normal wrestling match talk. Finally around 1/2 way through, I asked the one guy if we could actually save CSU wrestling. He was positive it would happen and pointed me to this site. The Prez is new and looking to make a mark. https://www.saveclevelandstatewrestling.com/Good for you.
The decision by Cleveland State sucks for the wrestlers in the program, for wrestling in general, and for the coaches, lead by head coach, and former PSU wrestler, Josh Moore.
I hope the crowd shows a lot of appreciation for the wrestlers and the coaches, and also indicates to the administrators what they think of their decision.
True but...The guy who will be # 1 is one of the best wrestlers in the world. It’s a shame that kerk who is the reigning national and big ten champ and undefeated is not number 1.
That sounds accurate but I'd need to do some research to confirm.Am I crrect that 55-0 is their record biggest win?
Am I crrect that 55-0 is their record biggest win?
As far back as I can go online, you are correct!I think our largest margin of victory is 55-0 which we’ve done three times. Buffalo in 17-18, Edinboro in 23-24, and Michigan State back in January.
Back after the Wyoming dual, I dug up a media guide online. I have a vague recollection that Buffalo didn’t bring all of their starters due to the flu.As far back as I can go online, you are correct!
