Hope that means we get Duval.

How many studs has Texas and Washington landed in the last 10 years or so and gone absolutely nowhere with them?

Markelle Fultz from Washington could be player of the year and the #1 pick but few people even know who he is, and I don't think Washington scares anyone right now when they see them on the schedule. But hey, to each their own.

Disagree. I don't buy the Shaka hype. Never really have. Texas is awful. I think he's an average coach, he's not this elite coach the media made him out to be. Jmo
Your right. I like Shaka, but I think he fits better in coaching a mid major program like he had been. I bet Texas wishes now they didn't get rid of Rick Barnes. He was doing better than what Shaka is doing.

I don't think Shaka is a good coach either, but he's a great recruiter and motivator of edgy kids. Coleman is a natural floor leader, he doesn't need much in game coaching IMO. He'll make Shaka look good and Coleman will be surrounded with finishers. It may be a good recipe.

Not a big fan of Smart either. He was better fitted for a vcu than a major conference team imo.

Couldn't the same thing be said about Duke at the moment?

We need a distributor. If not Duval, I hope we go out and find a guy who really likes to set up others. Doing so will make it more attractive for Grayson, Bolden and Luke to come back one more year. We absolutely need a passer so that Trent can be a scorer.

No Shey, if Giles and Tatum were playing like top 3 recruits/draft picks, Duke would be undefeated/maybe one loss and one or two in the nation right now as well as favorites to win it all. Last year-a disappointing one by Duke standards- Duke still went to the Sweet 16 even after losing Jefferson.

Washington is currently sitting at 8-9. Forget about the NCAA's with them; they will have a hard enough time just making the NIT at this point. Fultz is the real deal, though.

As for Shaka, I kind of feel like he's a little overrated. He's a young, energetic coach that had one great run in March. His teams have made a first round exit in each of the past three seasons. He's a very solid recruiter, so it'll be interesting to see how some of his promising prospects develop over the next few years.

I always thought the worse school for bringing in talent and doing next to little with it, was UNLV... they are obviously in the middle of a rebuilding year with Dave Rice out of the picture. But they seemed to bring in top 20 players every year, multiple draft picks... and it seems like they never won anything remotely relevant in March.
